Ay, this here movie thing, it’s a big deal, ya know? I wanna find a good movie for me, somethin’ to watch when I ain’t got nothin’ better to do. Like, after I done fed the chickens and slopped the hogs, sometimes I just wanna sit a spell and watch a picture show. But there’s so many of ’em, how’s a body supposed to choose?
They got them talkies now, you know, not like them old silent pictures. I heard they even got colors in ’em now, ain’t that somethin’? But, you gotta find a good one, see? Not just any old thing. Somethin’ that’ll make ya laugh or cry, or maybe even both! And, I want a movie I can just see and forget my troubles. That’s the best kind of movie, I reckon.
I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout a place called “Rotten Tomatoes,” sounds kinda nasty if ya ask me. But they say it’s a good place to find out what’s good and what ain’t. You can see what other folks think of a movie before ya watch it. Might be worth a look-see.
- Find a movie that tells a good story. That’s the most important thing.
- Gotta have good actors, too. Folks who can really make ya believe they’re the people in the story.
- And it’s gotta be, what do they call it, “well-directed”? I guess that means the fella in charge knew what he was doin’.
Some folks like them action movies, with all the shootin’ and the car chases. That ain’t really my cup of tea, though. I prefer somethin’ a little more, well, calm, I guess. Maybe a nice story about a family, or a fella who falls in love. Somethin’ with a happy endin’, ya know? Ain’t no use watchin’ somethin’ that’s just gonna make ya feel sad.
I also heard about this other thing called “JustWatch.” Sounds kinda simple, don’t it? But I reckon it helps ya find where to watch the movies. Like, if ya wanna see a certain picture show, this JustWatch thing will tell ya where to find it. These young folks and their fancy gadgets, I tell ya!
They say you gotta give these movies a chance. Watch ’em on a big screen if you can. But I don’t have one of those. My old TV will have to do. It’s a bit fuzzy sometimes, but it gets the job done. I also heard you should see a movie in a dark room. Makes it feel like you are in the picture show!
Now, if you’re watchin’ with other folks, that’s a whole other kettle of fish. You gotta find somethin’ everyone will like. I heard you are supposed to make a list of movies, maybe five or ten, and then ask everyone what they think. That way, you can pick somethin’ everyone will enjoy. Makes sense, I guess. No point in watchin’ somethin’ if half the folks in the room are gonna be bored to tears.
- Ask your friends and family what they like to watch. They might know some good movies you ain’t never heard of.
- Read them reviews online. See what other folks are sayin’ about the movie.
- Don’t be afraid to try somethin’ new. You might just find your new favorite movie!
And then there’s all them different kinds of movies. You got your comedies, your dramas, your thrillers. It’s enough to make your head spin! I reckon the best thing to do is just try a little bit of everything and see what you like. That’s what I plan to do, anyway. You know, I want a movie that can be funny but also with a strong message. I think that’s what make a movie for me good.
Another thing to consider is the music. A good movie‘s gotta have a good soundtrack, somethin’ that fits the mood, ya know? Like, if it’s a sad scene, you don’t want no happy-go-lucky music playin’. And if it’s a love scene, you want somethin’ sweet and romantic. The music can really make or break a movie, I think.
I hope I can find a good movie for me. It should also be meaninful. A good movie should have a message, somethin’ that makes ya think, ya know? It shouldn’t just be a bunch of empty fluff. It should be about somethin’ important, somethin’ that matters. I like to think about stuff, even if I am gettin’ on in years. Keeps the mind sharp, they say.
So, yeah, findin’ the right movie ain’t as easy as it looks. But I reckon it’s worth the effort. A good movie can really brighten up your day, especially when you ain’t got much else goin’ on.
