Mattel has combined its film and television efforts under a Mattel Studios banner headed by Robbie Brenner. Brenner, who most recently served as [resident of Mattel Films, has been elevated to president and chief content officer of Mattel Studios.

At Mattel Studios, Jennifer Breslow will serve as head of television with Darian Lanzetta and Tom McNulty as senior executives, film. All will report to Brenner, who will continue to report to chairman and chief executive officer Ynon Kreiz.

Breslow joins Mattel from Legendary Entertainment, where she acted as the evp of television and digital media. Her credits include Fate: The Winx Saga and Firefly Lane.

Lanzetta joins Mattel following 12 years at CAA where he worked closely with Mattel on projects like Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Bob the Builder, and Masters of the Universe.

Tom McNulty joins the toy company from MC Squared Media, with film credits that include The Spectacular Now and The Stand In. He previously held roles at Global Produce, Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment, and Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions.

Mattel Combines Film, TV Divisions Under Robbie Brenner

Mattel is currently in production on the long-gestating Masters of the Universe movie, set to be released by Amazon, the first film for Mattel since the $1 billion-grossing Barbie. Also in the works is the Matchbox car movie set at Apple with John Cena starring. Its slate includes a variety of film projects based on properties like Barney, Thomas & Friends, Hot Wheels and Viewfinder.
