Moira Walley-Beckett is out as showrunner of Amazon’s Fourth Wing adaptation, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
WandaVision and Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer has signed an overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios, and is being eyed to replace Walley-Beckett as Fourth Wing showrunner. The Fourth Wing TV project hails from Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society.
There are three novels currently out in the series of best-selling romantasy books by Rebecca Yarros, now called The Empyrean series, with two more are expected. Fourth Wing was the first book in the series.
The books are set at Basgiath War College, where the story’s 20-year-old protagonist Violet Sorrengail must train to become a dragon rider.

Walley-Beckett was a Breaking Bad writer and producer, and she created the series Anne With an E. She signed on to showrun Amazon’s Fourth Wing last summer. ‘Fourth Wing’ has not yet been ordered to series and does not have a cast attached.
Executive producers include Michael B. Jordan and Outlier president Elizabeth Raposo, as well as Yarros and the head of Entangled Publishing Liz Pelletier. Outlier Society executive vice president of TV Stefano Agosto will co-executive produce.
More to come.
