Alright, let’s talk about them horror movie box thingies, you know, the ones they send you every month. I ain’t no fancy city gal, but even I like a good scare sometimes, ya know? Like when the chickens get loose, that’s scary enough, but these movies, they got monsters and ghosts and all sorts of craziness. So, these boxes, they’re supposed to bring that craziness right to your door. And let me tell ya, it’s a whole lot easier than chasin’ after a runaway rooster.

What’s in these horror movie boxes, anyway?

Well, from what I hear, they pack ’em full of scary flicks. We’re talking them Blu-ray or DVD things, not them newfangled internet movies. I like holdin’ somethin’ in my hand, ya know? Makes it feel real. They say you get about four movies a month. Four! That’s more movies than I see in a whole year, unless you count the time the neighbor’s cow got stuck in the fence, that was a real-life drama, I tell ya.

  • Blu-rays or DVDs: Like I said, somethin’ you can hold. Good for whacking flies, too, if the movie ain’t no good.
  • Four Movies a Month: That’s a lot of screamin’ and jumpin’. Hope your heart’s strong!
  • Maybe some extra goodies: Sometimes they throw in a t-shirt or a poster or somethin’. My grandson would like that, he’s always wearin’ them band shirts with the skulls and such.

Where do you find these horror movie boxes?

Now, that’s the tricky part. They ain’t sellin’ ‘em down at the general store, that’s for sure. You gotta go on that internet thingy. My grandson showed me how to use it once, but it’s all clickin’ and typin’, makes my head spin. But he says you can find all sorts of stuff on there, these movie boxes included. He says there’s all kind of places to watch these horror movies like fuboTV and Paramount Plus or somethin’, too much noise if you ask me. I like a good old DVD myself. They got them old time horror movies too, like the one with the living dead people. He said somethin’ about Night of the Living Dead. And some fella named Clive Barker made some scary stuff too, Hellraiser, I think he called it.

Are these horror movie boxes worth the money?

Well, that depends on how much you like gettin’ the bejeebers scared outta ya. And how much money you got to spare, of course. Some of these boxes, they can cost a pretty penny. But if you’re like me and you enjoy a good fright now and then, and you don’t wanna go traipsin’ all over town lookin’ for somethin’ to watch, then maybe it’s worth it. It’s cheaper than raisin’ a whole herd of goats, and less likely to stink up the place.

Plus think of all the time you save not havin’ to go to the video store. Remember them? Havin’ to drive all the way into town, walk up and down the aisles, and then half the time the movie you wanted was already gone. With these boxes, the movies come right to you. It’s like havin’ a little bit of Hollywood magic delivered right to your doorstep, or your mailbox, or wherever the postman leaves stuff these days.

Some scary movies I heard about…

My grandson, he talks my ear off about all these scary movies. He told me about some new ones like Terrifier and Lake Mungo. Sounded awful spooky, them names. I don’t know, these young folks like all that blood and guts. I prefer a good ghost story myself. Somethin’ that makes you think, ya know? Somethin’ that stays with you long after the movie’s over. Like that time I thought I saw my dead husband sittin’ on the porch swing. That was a real fright, I tell ya.

So, should you get a horror movie box subscription?

Look, I ain’t gonna tell ya what to do with your money. But if you like a good scare, and you’re tired of watchin’ the same old reruns on TV, then maybe one of these horror movie boxes is just what you need. It’s a way to bring a little bit of excitement into your life, a little bit of somethin’ different. And who knows, you might even find a new favorite movie. Just make sure you got a strong heart and a blanket to hide under, ‘cause some of these flicks, they ain’t for the faint of heart. And if you hear some bumpin’ in the night, don’t blame me, it’s probably just the raccoons gettin’ into the garbage again.
