Alright, so you’re lookin’ for movies like that “Rainy Day in New York” one, huh? I saw that movie once, kinda liked it, kinda didn’t. You know, all them fancy words and city folks. But I get it, sometimes you want somethin’ that feels a certain way, like when it’s rainin’ outside and you just wanna sit and watch somethin’ on that there TV.

So, lemme tell ya, there’s this movie, “Manhattan” it’s called. Same fella made it as that rainy day one, Woody somethin’-or-other. It’s got all that talkin’ and city stuff, but it’s got that same kinda…feel, you know? People walkin’ around, talkin’ about love and life and all that jazz. And there’s another one, “Annie Hall,” same guy again. This one’s got a gal in it, kinda quirky, kinda cute. They talk a lot, walk a lot, just like in that rainy day movie.

  • If you like the talkin’ and the city, you might like them two.
  • Now, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ with a bit more… I dunno…drama?

There’s this one called “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Now, this one’s wild! Lots of money, lots of yellin’, lots of… well, you’ll see. It ain’t exactly like that rainy day movie, but it’s got that city feel, that busy feel, you know? People runnin’ around, makin’ deals, gettin’ in trouble.

And then there’s this other one, “Self/less.” This one’s different. It ain’t about romance or talkin’ so much, it’s more about… well, it’s hard to explain. A fella changes bodies, kinda like magic, but it ain’t magic. It’s… somethin’ else. It’s got that city vibe too, but it’s a bit more… I don’t know… thinky, you know?

You see, movies are like food. Sometimes you want somethin’ sweet, like a romance. Sometimes you want somethin’ spicy, like an action movie. And sometimes you want somethin’…I don’t know… like mashed potatoes. Comfort food, I guess. That rainy day movie, it’s kinda like mashed potatoes. It’s easy to watch, it’s got some nice moments, and it don’t make you think too hard.

So, if you want more mashed potatoes, try them Woody Allen movies, “Manhattan” and “Annie Hall”. If you want somethin’ a bit spicier, try “Wolf of Wall Street”. And if you want somethin’…different, somethin’ to make you scratch your head a bit, try “Self/less”.

Oh, and I heard someone talkin’ ‘bout a movie with Winona Ryder and Richard Gere, somethin’ ‘bout a young gal and an older fella ownin’ a restaurant. Don’t remember the name, but it sounded kinda like that rainy day movie too. Lots of talkin’, I bet. You might like that one too if you can find it.

And that’s all I got to say about movies like that there “Rainy Day in New York”. Just remember, sometimes the best movie is the one that feels right for the moment. Like when it’s rainin’ outside and you just wanna curl up and watch somethin’ nice.

Now, I gotta go make some real mashed potatoes, all this talkin’ made me hungry.

And hey, there’s this song about New York, by that Taylor Swift gal. “Welcome to New York,” it’s called. It ain’t a movie, but it’s got that city feel. Maybe listen to that while you’re lookin’ for a movie, set the mood, you know?
