Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about them movies, ya know, the ones like that The New Guy flick. You seen that one? Funny as heck, that one is. Made me laugh ‘til my sides hurt, I tell ya. So, if you liked that, you gonna like these other ones too, I reckon.
First off, we got them teen comedies, you know, the ones about high school and all that drama. High school, what a mess that was. Kids these days, they got it all figured out, or so they think. Anyway, movies like Mean Girls, that’s a good one. Lots of laughs, lots of silly stuff. But there’s other ones too, like, before them Mean Girls, there was this movie called Clueless. Same kinda thing, you know, popular kids, goofy kids, all mixed up. And if you like them Mean Girls, there’s a whole bunch more just like it, came out after. Hundreds of ‘em, they say. Some good, some not so good, you gotta pick and choose.

- Clueless – Before them Mean Girls, this one was the big deal.
- Lots more – Just gotta look around, they’re everywhere.
Now, some of these movies, they got that lovey-dovey stuff too, you know, the rom-coms they call ‘em. Rom-coms, they make me chuckle. Like that Kissing Booth thing, that’s a whole bunch of movies, a trilogy they say. If you liked them To All the Boys movies, you gonna like that Kissing Booth stuff. All about young love and all that jazz. And sometimes, these rom-coms, they got a twist at the end, you know, something you don’t see comin’. Keeps you on your toes, that’s for sure.
And then there’s them old comedies, the ones from way back when. The old ones, they knew how to make you laugh. Some of ‘em, they slapstick, you know, people fallin’ down and gettin’ hit with stuff. Like them Dumb and Dumber fellas, always gettin’ into trouble. And some, they don’t even talk much, like them silent movies. Imagine that, a movie with no talkin’! And then there’s the ones that make fun of other movies, them parody things. Airplane! That’s a hoot, I tell ya. And Scary Movie, that one scared me more than it made me laugh, but it was funny too, in its own way. Point is, there’s all kinds of funny out there, you just gotta find what tickles your fancy.
Them early two-thousands, they had a whole bunch of them teen comedies. Teen comedies, they never get old. Guess people always like watchin’ kids makin’ fools of themselves. And if you ever seen a movie so many times you can quote it word for word, well, you ain’t alone. Lots of folks do that. Specially them teen movies, they stick with ya.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch, somethin’ funny, somethin’ that reminds you of The New Guy, well, you got plenty of choices. High school movies, rom-coms, old comedies, new comedies, they’re all out there. Just gotta find ‘em and settle in for a good laugh. And a good laugh, that’s good for the soul, they say. So go on, find yourself a movie and have a good time. You deserve it.
And don’t forget, if you like that high school humor, that awkward stage of life where everyone’s tryin’ to figure things out, then you’ll find plenty of movies that capture that. Some are better than others, of course, but there’s enough out there to keep you entertained for a good long while. The important thing is to find somethin’ you enjoy, somethin’ that makes you laugh, somethin’ that takes your mind off things for a bit. Life’s too short to be serious all the time.
