Alright, so today I wanna share my crazy little project about recreating a horror movie bathroom scene. I’ve always been a huge fan of those classic horror flicks, and you know those scenes in the bathroom that just make your skin crawl? Well, I decided to try and bring one of those to life, just for fun.

First, I had to pick a scene. I went back and watched a bunch of my favorites, like “The Shining”. That “Here’s Johnny” scene? Total nightmare fuel! But there were others too, like “The Conjuring” and “Insidious,” all had me on the edge of my seat. So many good ones, but I finally settled on recreating a vibe that’s a mix of a few of them – you know, that eerie, unsettling feeling you get when you know something’s not quite right.

Next up, I started gathering materials. I hit up a few thrift stores and found some old, creepy-looking mirrors and a vintage medicine cabinet that looked like it hadn’t been opened in decades. I also grabbed some flickering light bulbs to give it that authentic, “something’s about to go down” feel. My bathroom at home became my little workshop, much to my roommate’s horror, haha.

  • Rummaged through thrift stores for vintage mirrors and a medicine cabinet.
  • Bought some flickering light bulbs.
  • Turned my bathroom into a makeshift horror set.

Setting up was the fun part. I replaced my regular mirror with the ones I found, and let me tell you, they instantly changed the whole vibe of the room. I set up the medicine cabinet, filled it with some old, empty bottles I labeled with weird stuff. Then came the lights. Getting them to flicker just right took some fiddling, but it was worth it. It looked like a scene straight out of a movie.

I even made some fake blood – just corn syrup, red food coloring, and a bit of chocolate syrup for that dark, dried look. I splattered it around a bit, not too much, just enough to make you wonder what happened there. It was all about the details, you know?

Once everything was set up, I invited a couple of friends over to check it out. I didn’t tell them what to expect, just said I had a surprise. Their reactions were priceless! One of them actually jumped when they saw their reflection in one of the old mirrors. Mission accomplished, I guess.

The Final Touches

I spent a few days just tweaking things, adding a bit more here and there. I recorded some creepy sounds – whispers, creaking doors, you name it – and played them softly in the background. It was all about creating that atmosphere, that sense of dread.

This whole project was a blast. It was awesome to take something I love from movies and try to recreate it in real life. Plus, it was a great way to freak out my friends a little. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Maybe next time I’ll tackle a different kind of scene. But for now, my horror bathroom is my masterpiece, haha.

If any of you guys are into this kind of stuff, I highly recommend giving it a shot. It’s a fun way to get creative and a little spooky. Just make sure your roommates are cool with it first!
