Okay, so today I wanna talk about something that’s been a bit of an obsession lately – Funko Pops, specifically the Movie Moments ones. You know, those cool little scenes captured in vinyl? Yeah, those.
Started with a Spark
It all started when I stumbled upon a Batman vs. Joker one. I mean, who doesn’t love a good hero-villain showdown? It was the 80th-anniversary edition, numbered 280, and looked pretty neat. That’s what sparked it all.
Choosing the Best
Then, I went down the rabbit hole. I started checking out lists, like, “Top 10 Best Funko Movie Moments,” that kind of thing. Honestly, they were pretty helpful in getting an idea of what’s out there. I didn’t want to just buy any random one, I wanted to start with the good stuff, you know?
Building a Collection
Next, I started looking into how to actually collect these things. There are checklists and everything! I found this guide, it was alright, talked about choosing a theme and stuff. I guess that makes sense, you don’t want a random mess on your shelf.
- Decided on a theme: Iconic movie scenes, duh.
- Made a list: Gotta keep track, right?
- Set a budget: These things can get pricey.
Diving Deeper
I learned a bit about Funko’s history too. Did you know their first things were called “Wacky Wobblers”? Bobbleheads, basically. They’ve come a long way. And get this, the most expensive one ever sold was a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket 2-Pack for $100,000! Crazy, right?
The Reality Check
But then I realized, these things are cool and all, but are they really a good investment? Probably not. I mean, sure, some might go up in value, but that’s not why I’m into them. I just think they’re awesome to look at and they remind me of some of my favorite movie scenes.

Displaying the Goods
So, I’ve got a few now, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to display them. Shelves, definitely. Maybe some custom lighting? I don’t know yet, it’s a work in progress. I will show you guys the results next time.
It’s All About the Fun
Anyway, that’s my Funko Movie Moments journey so far. It’s been fun, a little expensive, but mostly just a cool way to celebrate the movies I love. I’m no expert, but if you’re thinking about starting a collection, just go for it. Don’t overthink it. Just pick the ones you like and have fun with it. That’s what I’m doing, and I’m loving it.
