Alright, let’s talk about this “It Ends With Us” movie. I went and saw it the other day, you know, the one everyone’s been yappin’ about. Heard it was a big deal, like them books all the young folks are readin’ nowadays.

First off, that Blake Lively girl, she’s pretty as a picture, I’ll give her that. She plays this woman, and she’s got herself tangled up with two fellas. One’s a doctor, real handsome and all, but seems like he’s got a screw loose sometimes. The other fella is her first love, a real sweetheart from what I could tell. So, that’s the start of it all.

Now, the movie, it’s long. Real long. Felt like I was sittin’ there forever. They kept showin’ the same things over and over, like they didn’t know how to move the story along. You know, like when you’re tryin’ to explain somethin’ and you just keep repeatin’ yourself? Yeah, it was like that.

The story itself, well, it’s kinda messy. This girl, she’s got a bad past, somethin’ with her daddy I think. And this doctor fella, he gets angry real easy.

  • They fight, then they make up, then they fight again.
  • It’s like a rollercoaster, up and down, up and down.
  • Made my head spin, to be honest.

I heard the book was real popular, somethin’ about how hard it is to leave someone who ain’t treatin’ you right. But the movie, I don’t know, it didn’t quite get there. It felt like they were dancin’ around the edges of somethin’ important, but never really grabbed hold of it. You know what I mean?

They say the movie follows the book pretty close, but I ain’t read the book so I can’t say for sure. But even if you seen the movie, folks are sayin’ the book is still worth readin’. Guess it goes deeper, gets into the feelin’s more. Maybe that’s where the real story is at.

Some folks who write about movies, they didn’t much like it. Said it was “puzzling” and “horrifying”. I can see why. It’s got love and romance, sure, but there’s this darkness underneath it all. Like a storm brewin’ on the horizon. You just know somethin’ bad is gonna happen, but you can’t stop it.

And that Justin Baldoni fella, he directed it. Don’t know much about him, but he made it look nice, I guess. The colors were pretty, and the actors, they did alright. But pretty pictures ain’t everything, ya know? You need a good story, somethin’ that grabs you and don’t let go. This one, it grabbed me for a bit, then kinda let me slip away.

Overall, I’d say this “It Ends With Us” movie is a mixed bag. It’s got some good parts, some pretty faces, and a story that tries to be important. But it’s too long, too repetitive, and it doesn’t quite hit the mark. It’s like a cake that looks beautiful on the outside, but inside it’s a little bit dry and crumbly. You eat it, but you ain’t gonna be rushin’ back for another slice.

Folks are givin’ it different scores, some high, some low. I ain’t one for numbers, but if I had to give it a score, I’d say it’s somewhere in the middle. Not the worst movie I ever seen, but definitely not the best. It’s a movie you watch, then you kinda shrug and move on with your day. That’s just my two cents, though. You might see it and think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread, and that’s alright too. We all got our own opinions, that’s what makes the world go ‘round, right?

So, if you’re thinkin’ about seein’ it, go ahead. Just don’t expect too much. And maybe read the book first, so you know what’s supposed to be happenin’. That’s what I’d do, if I was a readin’ type. But I ain’t, so I’ll just stick to my stories on the TV, thank you very much.
