Oh, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout the movie theaters up in North Conway, New Hampshire. Now, if you’re headin’ up that way, lookin’ for a good spot to catch a flick, there’s a few places ya might wanna know ’bout. North Conway ain’t a big town, but it’s got some nice theaters where ya can sit back and watch them big screen pictures, just like the old days.

One of the more well-known ones is the Mountain Valley Mall Cinema 7. It’s located right there on Mount Valley Blvd, and let me tell ya, this place has been showin’ movies for decades. If you’re lookin’ to watch somethin’ fresh and new, they got all the latest blockbusters. Sometimes they got those superhero flicks or the big action movies that folks love to see, especially on a weekend. And, I reckon, they got about 7 movies showin’ a day. So, if you’re around, you ain’t got no excuse to miss a good show.

But I gotta warn ya, things ain’t always been the same up there. See, for years folks used to have a theater right there in the Mountain Valley Mall, and that was the go-to spot for the latest hits. But things changed come October 20th. After decades of people watchin’ movies in that cinema, now, if you want the newest movies, you gotta drive a bit. I hear folks might have to drive 40 minutes to Bridgton, Maine or an hour to Meredith or Lancaster. Not too bad a drive, but still, a bit of a hassle if ya ask me.

Now, I know some folks like that old-time drive-in experience, and believe it or not, North Conway has that too! Yep, the Bridgton Twin Drive-In Theatre is still open and runnin’. It’s not like the fancy indoor theaters, but there’s somethin’ special about watchin’ a movie under the stars. You just park your car, get comfy, and watch the movie on that big ol’ screen. That’s the way it used to be done, and I reckon it’s still a fun time for families or anyone lookin’ for a bit of nostalgia.

Now, I don’t know if you’re a fan of discounts, but I hear the theaters up in North Conway offer all sorts of deals, especially on Tuesdays. They call it Ticket Savings Tuesdays. So if you ain’t too picky about which day you go, you can save a few bucks on your ticket. That’s good news if you’re watchin’ movies more than once a month. Every little bit helps, right?

But if you ask me, there’s somethin’ about the Magic Lantern Theater that still feels a bit more special. This one’s a bit more of a local gem. It’s smaller, not like them big chain places, but it’s got a charm to it that the bigger theaters just can’t match. It’s more cozy, and you feel like you’re part of the whole thing. They don’t always have the latest blockbusters, but they sure have a good selection of movies for those who want something different than the usual mainstream fare.

So, whether you’re lookin’ for a regular cinema experience, or you want somethin’ more outdoorsy like the drive-in, North Conway’s got ya covered. And if you’re feelin’ adventurous, a short drive can get you to other places with more theaters, too. But if you’re just passin’ through, take your time, enjoy the show, and remember that there’s always a place to catch a flick in this little town. You might just find somethin’ to enjoy while you’re here.

One thing’s for sure, whether it’s the Mountain Valley Mall Cinema 7 or the good ol’ drive-in, the movies in North Conway are a great way to spend a couple of hours, especially if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ fun to do while you’re up that way. So, don’t forget to check the showtimes before you go, grab some popcorn, and settle in for a good time!
