So, the other day I was thinking about that movie, “Brotherly Love”, you know, the one that came out in 2015? It got me thinking about other movies that have a similar vibe. I really enjoyed the story and how it looked into family relationships, especially between siblings. So, I decided to dig around and see what other movies I could find that might give me that same feeling.
First, I jumped on the internet, just to get a general idea. Typed in something like, “movies similar to Brotherly Love” into the search bar. You know how it is, you gotta start somewhere, right? The search engine did its thing, and boom, a bunch of results popped up. I started clicking around, reading some brief descriptions of different movies. I saw that some people were talking about the movie on websites like Filmaffinity. I also looked at some lists that sites put together, recommending movies based on what you’ve watched before. It was a bit overwhelming, honestly, but I kept at it.
I wanted to make sure I wasn’t just going off some random suggestions, so I started looking at the release years of the movies and who directed them. That “Brotherly Love” movie was directed by Jamal Hill, so I figured maybe looking at other movies he made would be a good idea. I also checked out a few forums where people were discussing movies they liked.
- I realized “Brotherly Love” is not based on a real story, although it feels so real.
- I found that many people love this movie since 2015.
- I started writing down the names of movies that seemed interesting.
I tried to find information about the plots of these other movies. There’s this one called “Brothers” from 2009, and it’s about a soldier who’s presumed dead in Afghanistan, and how that affects his family back home. That sounded really intense, but definitely in the same ballpark as far as exploring family dynamics under pressure, so I added it to my list. And I found another one, which was released in 1970, and it is about a farmer who decides to retire and split his land among his three daughters.
After a few hours of searching and reading, I felt like I had a pretty decent list. I was feeling good. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it. I’m really excited to start watching these movies. I think they’re all going to be interesting in their own way, and hopefully, they’ll give me that same feeling I got from watching “Brotherly Love”. If you’ve seen any movies that you think are similar, let me know! I’m always up for adding more to my list.
Here are 6 movies I found that look into how brothers relate to each other, it’s pretty interesting:

- Brothers (2009)
- Watch movies if you like Brotherly Love (1970)
It felt pretty good to have done all that research and come up with something solid. I mean, who doesn’t love finding new movies to watch, especially when they’re in a genre you already enjoy? Plus, it was kind of fun playing detective and piecing together all this information from different corners of the internet. It was like a little adventure, all from the comfort of my own home!
Oh man, I ended up spending the whole afternoon on this! But you know what? It was totally worth it. I felt like I had really accomplished something, haha.
