Oh, you know, movies these days ain’t like they used to be. But still, there’s some mighty fine ones that came out in the last couple years that I reckon you’ll enjoy. I ain’t too fond of all them superhero movies and whatnot, but there’s a few here and there that catch my eye. Now, let me tell ya about some of these films from the past couple years, starting with the ones folks been talkin’ ’bout the most.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
Now, this one, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ sure got a lot of folks excited. It’s the next chapter in the Spider-Man story, and this ain’t just your regular superhero flick. It’s got all them fancy animations and twists and turns that make your head spin! If you like them comic books and superhero action, well, this one’s right up your alley. The IMDb score for this one is 8.6 outta 10, which is somethin’ for sure. Even if you’re like me and ain’t much into all that high-tech stuff, you can’t help but be impressed by how they bring the Spider-Verse to life!
Weekend (2023)
Now, if you ain’t into all them big explosions and chases, there’s this little gem called ‘Weekend.’ It’s a sweet, down-to-earth movie, all about love and what it means to be with someone, even if it’s just for a short while. It don’t have none of them fancy special effects, but it hits you right in the heart. Sometimes, the simplest stories are the best ones, and this one proves that you don’t need all them big-budget things to tell a real story.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)

For those of you who like a bit of humor with your action, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3′ is another one folks been talkin’ about. Now, don’t go thinkin’ it’s all just a bunch of nonsense; there’s a real heart to it, too. It’s about friends stickin’ together through thick and thin. And, well, even if you don’t follow the whole Marvel universe, you can still enjoy this one. The characters are lovable, and there’s a whole lotta laughs mixed with them heartwarming moments. If you ask me, this one’s worth watchin’ just for the jokes alone!
The Whale (2022)
Now, there’s a movie that’ll really make you think, and that’s ‘The Whale.’ This one’s heavy, I tell ya. It’s got Brendan Fraser in it, and let me tell ya, he put his heart and soul into this role. It’s all about a man who’s tryin’ to reconnect with his daughter while dealin’ with his own struggles. It ain’t the kinda film that you just watch and forget about; no, it sticks with ya. If you want something that’ll pull at your heartstrings, this one’s a good pick.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Now, here’s a real quirky one – ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once.’ You probably ain’t seen nothin’ quite like it. It’s got a little bit of everything: sci-fi, action, comedy, and a whole lot of emotional stuff too. Some folks say it’s a bit too out there, but I reckon if you can keep up with all the craziness, you’ll enjoy it. It’s about a woman who gets caught up in some big ol’ multiverse mess, and she’s gotta figure out how to save the day. Wild, huh?

The Batman (2022)
And then there’s ‘The Batman.’ Now, I ain’t gonna lie, I’ve seen my fair share of Batman movies, but this one’s a little different. It’s darker, more serious, and well, a bit more mysterious than the others. If you like crime thrillers and that whole detective thing, this one’s right up your street. I gotta say, the new Batman, Robert Pattinson, he does a pretty good job, even if he don’t got the same style as the old ones. It’s a bit grittier, but that makes it all the more interesting.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
If you’re into action and fast planes, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ is the one for you. It’s a sequel to the old ‘Top Gun’ movie from way back, and let me tell ya, they did a good job of bringin’ it back. Tom Cruise might be older, but he still got that charm. The aerial scenes are something else – you’ll feel like you’re right up there in the cockpit with ’em. It’s the kinda movie that’ll get your blood pumpin’ for sure, especially if you’re into all that military stuff.
Other Movies Worth Mentioning

- Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) – If you loved the first ‘Avatar,’ this one’s a must-see. It takes you back to Pandora and dives deeper into the world with all them beautiful visuals.
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) – Another superhero flick, but this one’s got heart. It’s all about honorin’ the late Chadwick Boseman and the legacy of T’Challa.
- Nope (2022) – If you like thrillers with a twist, ‘Nope’ by Jordan Peele is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
So, there you go! These are just a few of the movies from the past couple years that I think are worth watchin’. Some of ’em might make you laugh, some might make you cry, and others will just get your heart pumpin’. Whatever you’re in the mood for, I’m sure you’ll find somethin’ to enjoy. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m gonna go grab myself some popcorn and settle down for a good movie night!
