Alright, so listen up, y’all. I just watched this Dawn Treader movie, and I gotta tell ya, it was somethin’ else. Don’t go expectin’ no fancy talk from me, ’cause I’m just gonna tell it like it is, the way I see it.
First off, them young’uns, Lucy and Edmund, they go back to this Narnia place again. This time, they drag along their cousin, Eustace. Now, this Eustace kid, he’s a real piece of work, let me tell ya. A real whiner, always complainin’ about somethin’. But he gets his comeuppance, that’s for sure. He turned into a dragon, can ya believe it? Serves him right, I say. Kids these days, they need a good lesson or two.
Anyways, they meet up with that Prince Caspian fella, and they all hop on this big ol’ boat, the Dawn Treader. And off they go, sailin’ across the sea. Now, the sea, it looked real pretty, all sparkly and blue. But I tell ya, I wouldn’t wanna be out there on that boat. Too much water for my likin’. I like my feet on solid ground, ya know?
They go to all sorts of strange places, fightin’ sea monsters and whatnot. There was this one big snake thing, looked real scary, I ain’t gonna lie. And they even went to this island where dreams come true, or somethin’ like that. Sounded like a bunch of hooey to me, but hey, it’s a movie, right?
- Lots of fightin’
- Lots of sailin’
- And that dragon thing, that was somethin’ else.
Now, I heard some folks sayin’ this movie ain’t as good as the other Narnia ones. But I don’t know about that. I ain’t seen them others. But this one, it kept me entertained. Well, mostly. There were a few parts where I kinda dozed off a bit. But hey, I’m old, what can ya expect? Old folks need their naps, you know.
I liked them kids, though. Especially Lucy. She’s a tough little gal, always stickin’ up for what’s right. And Edmund, he ain’t so bad either. He’s grown up a bit since that first movie, I hear. Seems like he learned his lesson about bein’ a brat. That Caspian fella, he’s alright too. A bit too serious for my taste, but he means well. He’s like my old man after a hard day of work down on the farm.
The movie, it had a good story, I guess. Somethin’ about findin’ these lost lords and stoppin’ some kinda evil fog. I didn’t quite understand all of it, to be honest. But it looked real pretty, all them special effects and what have ya. And the endin’, it was kinda sad. Made me wanna cry a little, but I held it in. Ain’t no cryin’ in front of the TV, that’s what I always say.
So, would I recommend this Dawn Treader movie? Well, I guess so. If you like them fantasy stories with lots of action and adventure, then you’ll probably like this one. It ain’t perfect, mind you. But it’s a good way to pass the time. Just don’t expect it to be some kinda masterpiece. It’s entertainment, pure and simple, and sometimes that’s all you need. You know, somethin’ to take your mind off things, like the price of eggs these days. Lord have mercy!
Overall, it’s a decent movie for the whole family. The kids will like the action and the monsters, and the grown-ups will like… well, I don’t know what the grown-ups will like. Maybe they’ll just like seein’ the kids happy. That’s usually enough for us old folks. Just make sure you got plenty of popcorn, ’cause it’s a long one. And maybe a blanket too, in case you get sleepy like me.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Go see it for yourself, if you want. Or don’t. Makes no difference to me. I’m just tellin’ ya what I thought, plain and simple.
