So, I’ve been messing around with this whole Netflix affiliate marketing thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I figured, why not share my experience, from start to finish, with all the bumps and bruises along the way?

First off, I had to pick a niche. You know, something I could talk about without wanting to pull my hair out. Since I’m a huge movie buff, especially when it comes to those cheesy rom-coms and epic action flicks, focusing on Netflix’s content was a no-brainer. Plus I love binge-watching those documentary series about serial killers, so I can talk about these things all day long.

Signing Up and Getting Approved

Next up, I went through the motions of signing up for a few affiliate networks that work with Netflix. It wasn’t as simple as I thought it would be. Some of them had these crazy requirements. Like, you need a website with a million followers or something ridiculous. I mean, I’m just a regular guy who likes movies!

After a few rejections, which stung a little, I finally got accepted into a couple of programs. The feeling was like when I get accepted for a friend request from a pretty girl. It is awesome! It felt like winning a mini-lottery. Finally I can start my affiliate marketing.

Creating Content

Then came the fun part – creating content. I started a blog because, hey, everyone’s got a blog, right? I started writing reviews, making lists like “Top 10 Rom-Coms That’ll Make You Cry Like a Baby” and “Action Movies That Will Have You on the Edge of Your Seat,” and even tried my hand at some video reviews. It was pretty fun, actually. Seeing people comment and share my stuff was a real kick.

Promoting My Content

But just writing stuff wasn’t enough. I had to promote it. I dove into social media, which, let me tell you, is a whole other beast. I was posting on every platform I could think of, trying to get people to read my blog and watch my videos. Some days it felt like I was shouting into the void. Then I started to learn how to use these hashtags, and how to run some ads and how to post when my audience was online. It’s a lot of work, more than I thought.

Making Money (or Not)

Now, for the part, everyone’s waiting for – the money. I’m not gonna lie, it’s been slow going. I’ve made a few bucks here and there, enough to buy a pizza or two, but I’m definitely not quitting my day job yet. But, you know what? I’m not giving up. I’ve learned a ton along the way, and I’m starting to see a little bit of growth. Besides, I did make some money. Though not much, it proved this thing is doable. So I can totally do it better.

  • Keep learning: The online marketing world changes fast. I’m trying to keep up with the latest trends and strategies.
  • Be patient: This isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes time and effort.
  • Have fun: If you’re not enjoying it, what’s the point? I love movies, and I love sharing my passion with others.

So, that’s my story so far. It’s not perfect, and it’s definitely not over. But I’m in it for the long haul. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be that guy with a million followers, all thanks to Netflix and my love for cheesy rom-coms. And I’ll definitely keep sharing my journey, every step of the way.
