Okay, so I saw this thing going around about Netflix donating to Kamala Harris and I was like, “Wait, what?” I needed to know if this was actually true, so I decided to do a little digging myself.
My Little Investigation
First, I went straight to the source, well, kind of. I started looking for official campaign finance records. You know, the place where they have to report all that stuff.
I spent a good chunk of time going through different websites. It was a bit of a maze, honestly. Lots of forms and numbers and it wasn’t super clear at first.
I started to get a bit frustrated. It’s not like these things are written in plain English, you know? But I kept at it, I refined the searching terms with different words.
I looked, and I looked, and… nothing. I couldn’t find any direct donations from Netflix, the company, to Kamala Harris’s campaign. I double-checked, triple-checked, and still nothing.
So, based on my little adventure in campaign finance land, I’m gonna say that Netflix, as a company, didn’t donate to Kamala Harris’s campaign, that I could find anyway.
