Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this movie place in New Bern, North Carolina. They call it Bear Town Cinema 6, or somethin’ like that. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a place to watch them pictures, you know?
First off, it’s on Trent Road. Now, I ain’t good with numbers, but I heard tell it’s 2806 Trent Road. You gotta go find it yourself, I ain’t your GPS. Heard they got like, seven movies playin’ most days. That’s a whole lotta movies, more than I can count on my fingers and toes, that’s for sure.
What kind of movies they got? Well, I don’t rightly know all of ‘em. They got all sorts, I reckon. Saw a poster once, somethin’ about a pastor who was also a spy, and maybe even a killer? Sounded wild. They call it “Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin.” Don’t ask me what it’s about, I just saw the picture. Heard you can even watch the trailer, whatever that is. Fancy folks and their fancy words.
And get this, they got this thing called Fandango. Sounds like a dance, but it ain’t. It’s somethin’ to do with buyin’ tickets. They say you get “double rewards” if you use it. Rewards? I ain’t sure what kinda rewards they givin’ out, maybe extra popcorn? Or maybe a free soda? Who knows. But if you’re into that kinda thing, go ahead and use that Fandang-go thingamajig.
- Movies: They got a bunch of ‘em, more than you can shake a stick at.
- Location: Trent Road, somethin’ somethin’ 2806, I think.
- Tickets: You can buy ‘em online, or maybe at the place itself. And that Fandango thing, if you’re feelin’ fancy.
Now, they also got another movie place, Bruin Theater, they call it. Same folks own it, I think. So, you got choices, see? Bear Town or Bruin, take your pick. It’s all the same to me, long as they got them comfy seats and plenty of snacks.
And let me tell you somethin’ about them movie ratings. They got all these letters and numbers, G, PG, PG-13, R, and then there’s this NC-17. Now, that NC-17, that’s the one you gotta watch out for. They say ain’t nobody under 17 gettin’ in to see them kinda movies, not even with their mama or daddy. Must be somethin’ real wild and crazy in them pictures. I wouldn’t know, I stick to the PG-13s myself. Less fuss and bother, you know?
Oh, and I almost forgot! They got somethin’ called “Tuesdays Are for Ticket Savings.” Sounds like they give you a discount on Tuesdays. Smart folks, them movie people. Gettin’ you in the door on a slow day. But hey, if you wanna save a few pennies, go on Tuesdays.
Now, somebody told me there’s another movie place in the Gold Coast Mall. Fox Theaters, I think. Never been there myself, but they say it’s convenient ‘cause you can go shoppin’ before or after the movie. Sounds like a good way to spend a whole day, if you got the time and the money.
And one last thing, somethin’ about IMAX. They say it’s got special sound or somethin’. Acou-something-or-other. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but maybe it’s fancy for the city folk. I’m happy with just hearin’ the movie, myself. Don’t need no special sound to know what’s goin’ on.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about the movie theaters in New Bern. Go on down there and see for yourself. Maybe you’ll like it, maybe you won’t. But hey, it’s somethin’ to do, right? Better than sittin’ around watchin’ the grass grow.
And don’t forget, find the showtimes and buy your tickets, and have yourself a good time. Just don’t blame me if the movie’s no good. I just tell it like it is.
