Derry Girls and Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan will lead the latest season of Channel 4‘s I Am.

The BAFTA-winning, female-led anthology series has been recommissioned for a fourth season, the British broadcaster unveiled on Monday, with Coughlan set to star in the two-episode story I Am Helen opposite Peaky Blinders actor Joe Cole.

Dominic Savage (Close to You) will direct, produce, and write the show. The Emmy-winning Me+You Productions is producing the series. Savage has developed the stories in collaboration with previous stars Kate Winslet, Lesley Manville and Letitia Wright, and has done so again with Irishwoman Coughlan.

“It’s an absolute honor to be part of telling the next I Am… story alongside Dominic Savage — a singular talent and a storyteller deeply committed to exploring the breadth of the female experience,” Coughlan said. “To follow in the footsteps of the brilliant women who’ve collaborated with him on this series feels truly surreal, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be embarking on this journey.”

They concluded: “Their collaboration on this two-part installment of I Am promises to be something truly special, and we’re deeply grateful to Channel 4 for their continued support and belief in this powerful series.”
