Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this here movie, “Noah.” Folks been talkin’ ’bout it, and I figured I’d give ya my two cents, ya know? It’s about that fella Noah from the Bible, the one with the ark and all them animals. But this here movie, it ain’t exactly like the stories they tell in Sunday school, no sir.
First off, they got this fella Russell Crowe playin’ Noah. He’s a good actor, I reckon, always lookin’ serious and all. He’s gotta build this here big boat ’cause God’s gonna flood the whole world. Seems like a mighty big job for one fella, but he gets it done, with the help of his family and some kinda rock creatures. Don’t rightly know where them rock creatures come from, ain’t in my Bible, that’s for sure.
Now, the movie, it shows lots of folks bein’ bad and doin’ wrong. Stealin’ and killin’ and such. And Noah, he’s tryin’ to be good, but he’s got his own troubles. He gets awful grumpy sometimes, yellin’ at his kids and whatnot. And he gets this crazy idea that he’s gotta kill his own grandkids to, I don’t know, please God or somethin’. That part didn’t sit right with me, let me tell ya. A grandpappy killin’ his own kin? That ain’t right, no matter what.
And then there’s all this talk about watchers and magic and whatnot. Like I said, ain’t in my Bible. They got these big ol’ rock creatures helpin’ Noah build the ark, and they got this other fella, Methuselah, who’s real old and got some kinda magic powers. He gives Noah a seed from the Garden of Eden or somethin’. It’s all kinda confusing, if you ask me.
- But the flood part, that’s pretty somethin’. They show all that water comin’ and washin’ everything away. It’s scary, to be honest. Makes you think about doin’ right, you know?
- And the animals, they’re in the movie too, all kinds of ’em. They get on the ark two by two, just like the Bible says. That part was nice to see.
Now, some folks, they say this movie ain’t Christian. They say it changes the Bible story too much. And maybe they’re right. It definitely adds a whole lot of stuff that ain’t in the Bible. But I don’t know, it got me thinkin’ about Noah and the flood and what it all means. It made me think about how important it is to be good and to listen to God, even when it’s hard.
I reckon it’s one of them movies you gotta watch and decide for yourself what you think. It ain’t perfect, and it ain’t exactly like the Bible, but it’s got some good parts. It makes you think about faith and family and doin’ what’s right. And that ain’t a bad thing, no sir.
Some folks say it’s got some crazy ideas, like this Lucifer stuff. I didn’t see nothin’ like that in there, but maybe I missed it. I was too busy watchin’ them rock creatures and tryin’ to figure out what was goin’ on. But like I said, it’s a movie, it ain’t supposed to be exactly like the Bible. It’s supposed to tell a story, and get you thinkin’. And this here movie, it sure does that.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a movie that’s gonna make you think about the Bible and about life, then maybe you should give “Noah” a watch. Just don’t expect it to be exactly like what you learned in Sunday school. It’s got its own take on the story, and you gotta decide for yourself if you like it or not.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. It’s a movie, not the gospel truth, but it might just get you thinkin’ about the gospel truth, and that’s a good thing, ya know?
