Shawn French, host of the popular podcast The Determined Society, has signed with CAA for representation in all areas.
French, a performance coach, keynote speaker and author, is looking to the Hollywood talent and sports agency to take his audience-pulling podcast where he candidly talks to celebrities, entrepreneurs, elite athletes and thought leaders to new media platforms.
“The podcast space isn’t just growing, it’s evolving into a global storytelling platform. I wanted to partner with a team that not only understands that shift but can help lead it. CAA’s belief in my vision and their ability to amplify The Determined Society across every medium made this partnership feel inevitable,” French said in a statement.
The signing comes as popular podcasts as intellectual property have been turned into films and TV series and Hollywood talent agencies have responded by building up their rosters of creator clients. French’s The Determined Society podcast is positioned as exploring themes of perseverance, cultural perspectives and personal growth with in-depth conversations that go behind the headlines.
Recent podcasts include conversations with Andrew Pollack, father of Meadow Pollack, one of the 17 victims killed during the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, and Emily Harrington, a champion free climber featured in the Imax documentary Girl Climber by director Jon Glassberg.

The Determined Society, top-ranked on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, has an audience of over 1 million monthly listeners. French and his podcast continue to be represented by Valerie Zucker at the Zucker Media Group.
