Well, shoot, you wanna watch somethin’ on that Netflix thingy, huh? Don’t know what to pick? It’s like a barn full of hay, ain’t it? Too much stuff! Okay, okay, let’s figure this out. I ain’t got no fancy book learnin’, but I know what’s what when it comes to watchin’ them shows.
First off, what kinda stuff do ya like? You like them lovey-dovey things? You know, where folks are always kissin’ and sayin’ sweet nothin’s? Or maybe you like the shoot-em-up bang-bang kind? Or maybe somethin’ spooky, with ghosts and goblins and such? Gotta narrow it down, see?
- Lovey-dovey stuff (Romantic Comedies): If you like them love stories, where folks are always makin’ eyes at each other and gigglin’ like silly geese, then you might like somethin’ like “Emily in Paris.” That one’s about a girl who goes to Paris and finds love and all that. Or maybe “Bridgerton,” that’s got fancy folks in fancy clothes doin’ fancy things. Lots of pretty dresses and handsome fellas in that one.
- Shoot-em-up bang-bang stuff (Action & Adventure): You like guns and fightin’ and things blowin’ up? Then you gotta try “The Witcher.” That fella’s always fightin’ monsters and such. Or maybe “Stranger Things,” that’s got kids fightin’ monsters from another world. That one’s got some spooky stuff too, but mostly it’s about the kids and their adventures.
- Spooky stuff (Horror & Thriller): If you like bein’ scared outta your wits, then you gotta try “The Haunting of Hill House.” That one’s about a family livin’ in a haunted house. Scary as all get-out, I tell ya. Or maybe “Bird Box,” that’s where you gotta wear a blindfold or else you see somethin’ that’ll drive ya crazy. Don’t watch that one alone at night, I’m tellin’ ya!
- Funny stuff (Comedy): Now, if you just wanna laugh and forget your troubles, there’s plenty of them shows too. “Grace and Frankie” is about these two old ladies who become friends after their husbands leave them for each other. It’s funny and heartwarming. Or maybe you’d like “The Good Place,” that’s about a woman who accidentally ends up in the good afterlife, even though she wasn’t a good person. It’s got some smart talkin’ in it, but it’s funny too.
- Thinkin’ stuff (Drama & Crime): You like them shows that make you think? Like them detective shows where they gotta figure out who done it? Then you gotta try “Mindhunter,” that’s about them FBI fellas who study serial killers. Creepy stuff, but it makes you think. Or maybe “Ozark,” that’s about a family that gets mixed up with the drug cartels. Lots of trouble and drama in that one.
Okay, so you picked a kinda show you like? Good. Now, how much time ya got? You want somethin’ short and sweet, or you wanna settle in for a long haul? Some of them shows got a whole bunch of episodes, and some of them only got a few.
And who are you watchin’ with? Just you? Your mister? The grandkids? Gotta make sure it’s somethin’ everyone can watch, ya know. Unless you wanna send the little ones off to bed early. Then you can watch whatever you want!
Let’s talk about some of them shows a bit more. “The Crown,” that’s about the Queen of England and her family. Lots of fancy talkin’ and fancy clothes in that one. “Lucifer,” that’s about the devil, but he’s kinda funny in this show. He helps the police solve crimes. Don’t make no sense, I know, but it’s fun to watch.
And don’t forget them cooking shows! You like watchin’ folks make food? There’s a whole bunch of them shows on there. “Chef’s Table,” that’s where they show you fancy chefs makin’ fancy food. “Nailed It!,” that’s where folks try to make fancy cakes, but they ain’t so good at it. It’s funny to watch ‘em mess up.
Now, this Netflix thingy, they got new stuff all the time. So even if you seen everything there is to see, there’ll be somethin’ new next week. Just keep lookin’ around, you’ll find somethin’ you like.
So, here’s what you gotta do. Think about what kinda stuff you like, how much time you got, and who you’re watchin’ with. Then just start lookin’! Don’t be afraid to try somethin’ new. You might be surprised what you like. And if you don’t like it, well, just turn it off and try somethin’ else. It ain’t rocket science, ya know.
