A new feature based on A Christmas Carol is in the works at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Robert Eggers is set to write and direct a movie adapting Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story set at Christmas. Eggers will produce the project alongside Chris Columbus and Elenor Columbus for Maiden Voyage.
Eggers most recently directed the vampire film Nosferatu with a cast that includes Bill Skarsgard, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin and Willem Dafoe. Focus Features released the remake of the 1922 silent classic in theaters in December, and it surpassed $180 million at the global box office.
Eggers is represented by WME and Frankfurt Kurnit.
Deadline was first to report on the film.

More to come.
