Scary movies starting with R? Check out these horror movies that begin with R!

Okay, so I was really in the mood for some horror flicks last night. I’ve been on this kick lately where I’m trying to watch movies that start with specific letters, just to make things a bit more interesting, you know? So, I decided to go with the letter “R” last night.

First, I grabbed my laptop and fired up my browser. I started by just typing in “horror movies that begin with R” into the search bar. A bunch of random lists popped up. Some were talking about “top 12” lists, others had like 50 movies listed. That’s way too many to sift through! I clicked around on a few of these, just skimming through them.

I noticed a few titles that sounded familiar, like “Ringu” and “Repulsion.” And there was this one called “The Return of the Living Dead” that had a really high rating on Rotten Tomatoes, like 91 or something. I made a mental note of that one. I mean, who can resist a zombie flick, right? Then I started going through these lists more carefully, one by one.

The Return of the Living Dead (1985) – This one kept popping up, and with that 91 on Rotten Tomatoes, I figured it was a safe bet.
Ringu – I’ve heard of this one before, it’s a classic right? The Japanese one, not the American remake.
Repulsion – This one sounded interesting, more of a psychological thriller from what I could tell.

I also found some articles talking about the “R” rating and what it means for horror movies. Apparently, it’s not just about how scary a movie is, but more about graphic violence, language, and other adult stuff. Makes sense, I guess. I also stumbled upon some movie called “Trick ‘r Treat” which sounds more like a dark comedy. It seems to have vampires, ghosts, slasher, and murder mystery, all mixed together. I jotted it down, maybe for a different night.

After spending a good chunk of time researching, I finally settled on “The Return of the Living Dead” for the night. I figured I’d start with that one and see where the night took me. Maybe I’d even squeeze in another “R” movie if I was still up for it!
