Signature Entertainment has acquired the U.K. and Irish rights to horror film Eye for an Eye from HanWay Films, The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal.
Starring Whitney Peak, next set to headline The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, as well as Bridgerton star Golda Rosheuvel, S. Epatha Merkerson (Chicago Med) and Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country), the movie is based on Elisa Victoria’s graphic novel Mr Sandman. Colin Tilley directs.
Co-written by Elisa Victoria and Michael Tully, Eye for an Eye follows Anna, a young woman grieving the sudden death of her parents, who relocates from New York to a small Florida town to live with her estranged grandmother. “Isolated, vulnerable and in need of friends, she finds brief solace in the company of two local teens,” a plot synopsis reads.
“But when she becomes complicit in their unforgivable act of violence, she finds herself ensnared by Mr. Sandman — the twisted soul of a tormented child who haunts bullies’ dreams before feasting on their eyes when they finally wake.”

The feature is produced by Rachael Fung (Fremont) and Nate Kamiya (Between the Temples), Tim Headington (Weird: The Al Yankovic Story) and Theresa Steele Page (The Green Knight) on behalf of Ley Line Entertainment.
The deal was negotiated between Signature Entertainment’s chief commercial officer Elizabeth Williams and HanWay Films’ Head of Sales Nicole Mackey.
Said Williams: “We’re thrilled to be reteaming with our long-standing partners at HanWay Films on this unsettling revenge tale that is sure to keep U.K. and Irish audiences up at night later this year.”
