Well, let me tell ya, these here horror movie mugs, they ain’t for the faint of heart, that’s for sure.
You know, I seen some strange things in my day, but some of these mugs, they got pictures on ’em that’d make your hair stand on end. Scary faces, blood, all sorts of creepy stuff. I reckon some folks like that kinda thing, gives ’em a thrill or somethin’. Me, I prefer a nice cup with a purdy flower on it, but to each their own, I always say.
- One time, I saw a mug with that fella, Jason Voorhees, from them Friday the 13th movies. My grandson, he likes them scary flicks. He’d probably love a mug like that. But me? I’d be scared to drink outta it, might give me nightmares!
- And then there’s them mugs with ghosts and goblins on ’em. Reminds me of Halloween, which ain’t my favorite holiday, all that spooky stuff. Kids seem to like it though, dressin’ up and all.
I heard tell there’s folks callin’ themselves “adrenaline junkies” who love these horror movies. They like seein’ people get scared, I guess. Just like in them films with that Alfred Hitchcock fella, or that Michael Myers. I don’t get it, but folks is different, ain’t they?
Now, some of these mugs, they ain’t just got scary pictures, they got words on ’em too. Things like “Scream” or “Nightmare.” Makes you shiver just readin’ ’em. And they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, too. Big ones, little ones, some even got fancy handles. You can get ’em online, I hear, or maybe at a store that sells them kinda things.
I saw one mug, it had a picture of a box on it, somethin’ from a movie called “The Possession.” My nephew told me it’s about this creepy box that whispers. Whispers! Can you imagine? That’s enough to make you spill your coffee right there. And then there’s that “Exorcist” movie mug. Lord have mercy, I don’t even wanna think about that one. Too much for this old lady.
Some folks, they like to collect these mugs, I guess. Like they collect stamps or coins or somethin’. They put ’em up on shelves, show ’em off to their friends. “Look at this scary mug I got!” they say. Me, I’d rather collect pretty things, things that make me smile, not things that make me wanna hide under the covers.
But hey, if you like horror movies and you like mugs, then these here horror movie mugs are probably right up your alley. You can find ’em with all sorts of characters on ’em, from all sorts of movies. They got mugs with that Jack Skellington fella from that Christmas movie, and all sorts of other creepy critters.
You know, they even make these mugs for Valentine’s Day now. Can you believe it? A scary mug for a romantic holiday. Times sure have changed. Back in my day, Valentine’s Day was about hearts and flowers, not monsters and mayhem. But I guess that’s what the young folks like these days.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a gift for someone who likes horror movies, or if you just wanna scare yourself silly while you drink your mornin’ coffee, then go ahead and get yourself a horror movie mug. Just don’t blame me if you can’t sleep at night!
And remember, you can get these mugs just about anywhere. Online, in stores, maybe even at a yard sale if you’re lucky. Just keep your eyes peeled, and you’re sure to find one that’ll make your blood run cold. But like I said, me, I’ll stick to my purdy flower cups. They’re a whole lot less likely to give me the heebie-jeebies.
One more thing, these mugs ain’t cheap sometimes. You’d think somethin’ so scary lookin’ would be worth a nickel, but no sir, some of them fancy ones cost a pretty penny. I guess it’s all about what you like and what you’re willin’ to pay for.
