Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about these here, whatchamacallit, horror movie backpacks. You know, the kind the young’uns are all crazy about these days.
First off, I don’t rightly understand why anyone would wanna put scary stuff on their bags. Back in my day, a bag was just a bag, somethin’ to carry your stuff in. But these kids, they like all them monsters and whatnot. Guess it’s just the times, eh? Things change, I reckon.
- They got all sorts, these backpacks. Big ones, small ones, some with, like, ghosts and ghouls all over ’em.
- Seen some with pictures of them masked fellas, the ones from the scary movies. Don’t know their names, never watched them myself. Too much blood and hollerin’ for my taste.
- And these here “Loungefly” ones, they look kinda fancy. Got one with a goofy dog lookin’ fella on it, and another with some green gremlin thing. Kids seem to like ’em, though.
Now, some of these backpacks, they say they’re for laptops and work and such. Seventeen inches, they say. Big enough to fit a whole computer in there, I guess. Don’t know why you’d need a scary picture on your work bag, but to each their own, I always say. Seems like everyone carries backpacks now, not just the little tykes goin’ to school. Even them city folk with their fancy jobs, they got ’em too.
Heard tell there’s even backpacks with werewolves and, uh, serial killers on ’em. Land sakes, what kind of thing is that to be carryin’ around? But like I said, the young’uns like what they like. It’s their world now, ain’t it? We old folks just gotta sit back and watch, I guess.
They call some of these bags “multi-function travel backpacks”. That just means they got lots of pockets, I figure. For puttin’ your things in, you know? Like when you go visitin’ your kin or somethin’. Wouldn’t catch me travelin’ with a scary monster on my back though, no sir. Might give someone a fright!
I remember when backpacks were just plain canvas things, maybe with a picture of a flower or somethin’ nice on ’em. Now they got all these wild designs, all this… horror stuff. It’s a whole different world, I tell ya. But I guess if it makes the kids happy, then it ain’t hurtin’ nobody, right? Just long as they don’t go scarin’ the old folks too much with them spooky bags.
Speaking of scary movies, someone was tellin’ me about a fella named Rob Zombie. Made some of them Halloween movies, they said. Full of blood and gore, I bet. Not my cup of tea, that’s for sure. They said somethin’ about a reboot too, and sequels. Sounds like a whole lotta scary business to me. Give me a good old-fashioned Western any day.
And what’s this about “campy horror movies”? Sounds like they’re makin’ fun of the scary stuff, maybe? I dunno. All these young people words, hard to keep up sometimes. They say the characters are, like, over the top and silly. Maybe that’s why they put ’em on backpacks, so folks can have a laugh instead of a fright. Who knows?
Anyway, these here horror movie backpacks, they seem to be all the rage. You see ’em everywhere you go. Kids wearin’ ’em to school, grown-ups carryin’ ’em to work. Guess it’s just a way for folks to show off what they like, even if it’s a bit on the spooky side. As long as they’re sturdy and hold your stuff, I guess that’s all that really matters, ain’t it? But me, I’ll stick with my plain old handbag, thank you very much.
