Alright, so you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch on that Netflix thingamajig, huh? And you wanna see some fly fishin’, eh? Well, lemme tell ya, I ain’t no fancy city slicker with all them movie know-hows, but I do know a thing or two about watchin’ a good flick, and I sure do love watchin’ folks fish.
Now, I heard tell there’s this movie called “Mending the Line”. Yep, that’s the one. Folks been yappin’ about it. It’s got that fella, Brian Cox, in it. You know, that grumpy old guy from that show… can’t rightly remember the name, but he’s always yellin’ at somebody. Anyways, he plays a war fella, and wouldn’t ya know it, he’s into fly fishin’ too. They say he’s pretty good at it, though I reckon I could teach him a thing or two.
This movie, “Mending the Line,” it ain’t just about catchin’ fish, mind you. It’s got some heart to it, I hear. Somethin’ about war and healin’ and findin’ peace in the quiet of the river. Sounds kinda deep, don’t it? But don’t you go worryin’ about gettin’ all weepy and such. I bet there’s plenty of fishin’ scenes to keep you entertained. Probably got some purdy scenery too, all them mountains and rivers and such. Makes a body wanna pack up and head out there, don’t it?
- Now, I ain’t seen this movie myself, mind you. Netflix ain’t exactly somethin’ we got out here in the sticks. But I heard enough about it to know it’s worth a watch. And if you like that fly fishin’ stuff, well, then you just gotta give it a go.
- There’s another fella in it too, Sinqua Walls, I think his name is. He’s one of them young fellas, all full of energy and whatnot. I reckon he probably learns a thing or two from that old grumpy guy. That’s how it usually goes in these movies, ain’t it? The young’un learns from the old’un, and everybody’s happy in the end.
- And that Perry Mattfeld, she’s in there too. Now, I don’t know much about her, but they say she’s a good actress. Probably plays somebody important, maybe a nurse or a wife or somethin’. Every good story needs a woman to keep them fellas in line, I always say.
So, there you have it. “Mending the Line” on Netflix. That’s the one you wanna watch if you’re lookin’ for a fly fishin’ movie. Don’t go expectin’ no explosions or car chases, though. This ain’t one of them action flicks. This is about sittin’ quiet, castin’ a line, and maybe, just maybe, catchin’ a glimpse of somethin’ beautiful. It’s about findin’ peace in the wild, and that’s somethin’ we could all use a little more of these days.
I heard tell there might be another movie or two about fly fishin’ on that Netflix, but this one seems to be the most popular. I ain’t sure what the others are called, and I can’t rightly say if they’re any good. But if you’re really into fly fishin’ movies, I reckon you could do some searchin’ on that Netflix thing yourself. Just type in “fly fishin'” or “fishin'” or somethin’ like that, and see what pops up. You might be surprised what you find.
But remember this, watchin’ a movie about fly fishin’ ain’t the same as actually doin’ it. So, once you’re done watchin’, why don’t you go grab yourself a pole, find a nice river, and try it for yourself? There’s nothin’ quite like feelin’ that tug on the line and knowin’ you’ve got a fish on the other end. It’s good for the soul, I tell ya. Good for the soul.
And that’s all I got to say about that. Now, go on and enjoy your movie. And don’t forget to tell me how it was, if you ever see me again, that is.
