Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this thing called StreamFab, specifically for Netflix. I wanted to see if I could actually download stuff from Netflix and watch it offline, you know, like when I’m on a plane or something. So, I got this StreamFab thing, and the first thing I did was install it on my computer.
The installation was pretty straightforward, no problems there. After it was installed, I opened it up, and there was a section for Netflix. I clicked on that, and it basically opened up a mini-browser within the app, like I was browsing Netflix on Chrome or something. I logged into my Netflix account, no issues.
Then came the fun part. I found a movie I wanted to download, something I’d been meaning to watch. I clicked on the movie’s page, and there was this big “Download” button right there. I mean, you couldn’t miss it. I clicked that, and it gave me some options. I could choose the resolution, and yeah, it went up to 1080p, which is pretty good. It also let me pick the audio and subtitles I wanted, which is neat.
- The resolution options were a big deal for me.
- Also, picking the audio and subtitle was great.
I selected 1080p, English audio, and English subtitles, and then I hit download. It took a little while to download, but that’s expected with 1080p. It wasn’t too bad, though. While it was downloading, I browsed around and found a couple of TV shows I liked. Guess what? I could download entire seasons at once! That was pretty cool. I picked a show, selected all the episodes, and set it to download.
After everything was downloaded, I played one of the movies. It played perfectly, no buffering or anything, and the quality was great, just like watching it on Netflix. And the best part? No ads! It was just the movie, start to finish. I even tried it with the airplane mode on my computer, to simulate being offline, and it worked perfectly. I guess they save the files as MKV or MP4.
Overall Impression
Honestly, I was pretty impressed. This StreamFab thing does what it says it does. It’s like having my own little offline Netflix library. I can see myself using this a lot, especially when I travel. I used the offline installer to reinstall it once when I met some problems and it worked. Capturing the logs and uploading them to the forum seems like a good idea if I need help. I think I should try that later.
