Okay, so I was digging around the internet today trying to figure out this whole “Netflix feature that encourages marathon watching” thing. It’s a crossword clue, apparently, and it had me stumped for a bit. I mean, who thinks about these things, right?
Here’s how I went about solving it:
- First, I just straight up searched for “Netflix feature that encourages marathon watching crossword clue” on Google. Seemed like the obvious first step.
- The search results were all about crossword help sites. “Daily Celebrity,” “NY Times,” “Daily Mirror” – you name it, they had some kind of answer.
- I saw a bunch of these sites claiming there were like 40 different solutions. 40! Can you believe that?
- Other places were a little more down to earth, saying there was only one possible answer. That seemed a bit more reasonable to me.
- One site even had a crossword solver where you could put in the letters you already had. That’s pretty neat, I guess, if you’re into that sort of thing.
I clicked around a few of these links, and they all seemed to point to one answer: “AUTOPLAY.” Makes sense, right? You finish one episode, and bam, the next one starts right up. Pretty clever of Netflix, if you ask me.
Some of these crossword sites also talked about the word “clue” itself and how it’s used in crosswords. Like, putting “…say” at the end of a clue can mean it’s a soundalike. I don’t do crosswords that often, so that was kind of interesting to learn. Although, I think this clue was pretty straightforward.
Anyway, I finally figured it out. AUTOPLAY it is! I guess I just needed to bounce the idea off the internet a few times before it clicked. Sometimes you just need to see it written out a few different ways before it makes sense, you know?
It is not very difficult to solve such a problem, at least it is much easier than the problem I encountered at the beginning. This sharing is very fulfilling for me.
So there you have it. My little adventure in solving a random crossword clue. Hope this helps someone else out there who might be stuck on the same thing. Or maybe it’ll just give you a chuckle. Either way, I’m glad I could share it with you all!
