“Why do your people have so much hunger to kill?” Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for a western series called American Primeval, made by filmmaker Peter Berg and writer / producer Mark L. Smith. It follows the gritty and adventurous exploration of the birth of the American West, the violent collisions of cults, religion, and men and women fighting for control of the new world. This intense, brutal new western series with 6 episodes launches streaming on Netflix in January 2025 early next year. American Primeval features Taylor Kitsch, Betty Gilpin, Dane DeHaan, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Derek Hinkey, Joe Tippett, Jai Courtney, Preston Mota, Shawnee Pourier, and Shea Whigham. Julie O’Keefe is the Indigenous Cultural Consultant & Project Advisor. Artisans include: Hovia Edwards-Yellowjohn (Shoshone Bannock-Navajo), Pete Yellowjohn (Shoshone Bannock), Georgette Running Eagle (Shoshone Bannock), Robert Perry, Kugee Supernaw (Quapaw and Osage) and Son Supernaw (Quapaw-Osage and Caddo), Joe Cheshawalla (Osage), Debbie Cheshawalla (Choctaw), Molly Murphy Adams (Oglala Lakota). Looks damn good – a gritty, savage, tough look at America’s past and all the depraved things that happened on this land.
