It recreated a few things from the original teaser (parade, trampoline scene etc) but it should have had the same music and voice over from the original trailer. That was hilarious. Also, the constant mention of the name of the movie throughout the clip in case anyone forgot what it was called.
Finally..
Is Eli even doing it?
It loses a lot of its charm with a straight modern setting. It should have been in the same grainy 80s grindhouse style as the original concept.
The spoon chiming with the glass at the beginning harkens to the originally-written-for-Thanksgiving carol "Jingle Bells". That's very near-Christmassy, eh?
