Well, let me tell you, I heard somethin’ ’bout that The Horse and His Boy movie, the one they’re sayin’ is comin’ to Netflix. Ain’t seen it myself, but folks are talkin’, you know how it is. Seems like it’s based on one of them old stories, a book or somethin’. Some fella named C. S. Lewis wrote it, they say. Never heard of him, but I guess he must be a big shot writer. The movie, from what I gather, is s’posed to be for kids, but you know, us old folks like a good story too.
They say it’s gonna be on Netflix, that thing on the TV. My grandkids, they watch it all the time. This one, they say it’s gonna be on there in the fall of 2024, so you got some time to wait. They’re sayin’ it’s gonna be in a whole bunch of countries, more than 190, whatever that means. Guess lots of folks ’round the world are gonna be watchin’ it.
I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout a show, somethin’ at a museum. Museum of the Bible, I think they called it. Sounds fancy. They said this show was runnin’ til March 3rd, and they had tickets and everythin’. Some new stuff from the show was in somethin’ called a “sizzle reel.” Don’t know what that is, but I guess it’s important. The director, whoever that is, was talkin’ ’bout it.
- This movie, it’s s’posed to be about a boy and his horse, I reckon.
- The horse talks in the story. Ain’t that somethin’?
- They go on some kind of adventure, I guess.
Then there’s this other thing, a play or somethin’ they put on at a place called the Logos Theatre. Sounds like a right fancy place. Some lady named Nicole Stratton, she wrote it and directed it, all about Narnia. Never been there, but it sounds like a magical place, from what I hear. They put on a show back in 2018, and they say it was a real good one. Seems like she knows what she’s doin’, this Nicole lady. They say she made a real good Narnia adaptation.
Now, this story, The Horse and His Boy, it’s got all sorts of things in it. There’s this bad guy, Rabadash, and he gets turned into a donkey! Can you believe that? A donkey! Serves him right, I say, for bein’ bad. He gets turned back into a human, but he can’t go far from his city after that. Ten miles, they say. Guess that’ll teach him a lesson. Some big lion fella, Aslan, makes him a donkey, they say.
There’s this other fella in the play, Jay Turvey, he plays the horse, Bree. And they say the cast, that’s the folks in the play, they got along real good, like a family. There’s 14 of ’em, and most of ’em are women. That Christine Brubaker, she made it all happen. They say she made an “esprit de corps.” I don’t know what that fancy talk means. But it sounds like she did a good job of keepin’ everybody happy. I heard they say the cast is 14 people. Must be a big show, with all them folks.
This here movie, it ain’t just any old movie. It’s one of them fantasy things. Like I said, it’s all about some boy and his talkin’ horse. They go on an adventure to this place called Narnia, far away, across the desert. Gotta be careful of them deserts, they say. Hot and dry, not a place you wanna be stuck in.
The boy, he’s runnin’ away from somethin’, I think. And the horse, Bree, he’s helpin’ him. They meet other folks along the way. There’s another girl and her horse, too. Lots of horses in this story, that’s for sure.
There’s some fightin’ and battles, too. That Rabadash fella, he’s tryin’ to take over Narnia, or somethin’ like that. But the boy and his horse, they help stop him. They’re brave, those two. They say there is some battles in the story. That Rabadash fella sounds like a real mean one, tryin’ to take over.
It’s a story about bein’ brave and doin’ what’s right, even when it’s hard. That’s what I got from what folks are sayin’, anyway. And it’s about friendship, too. That boy and his horse, they’re good friends. They stick together, through thick and thin.
So, that’s what I know ’bout this The Horse and His Boy movie on Netflix. It sounds like a good one. Maybe I’ll even watch it myself, if I can figure out how that Netflix thing works. If you like horses and adventures and stories about doin’ what’s right, then you’ll probably like this movie, too. Just gotta wait til the fall of 2024, that’s all.
I don’t know much about makin’ movies, but I reckon it takes a lot of work. Lots of folks involved, all doin’ their part. Just like raisin’ a barn, everyone’s gotta pitch in. And it takes time, too. Can’t rush these things, you know. Gotta do it right. This The Horse and His Boy story is a good one, I think. Worth waitin’ for. The story, from what I heard, is all about doin’ what’s right, even when it’s hard. Just like life, I reckon.
Well, that’s all I got to say about that. You young folks and your fancy movies. In my day, we just had stories around the fire. But times change, I guess. Just hope this movie’s got a good story, that’s all that matters. Hope this movie teaches folks somethin’ good. About bein’ brave and kind and such. That’s what’s important.
