  1. … it' s true , before the Scrooge story. there was no nostalgia about christmas, that awesome feeling we all feel every year, wasn' t there before this story was written, god bless to mr Charles Dickens !

  2. RIP and long live Christopher Plummer (December 13, 1929 – February 5, 2021), aged 91
You will always be remembered as a legend.

  3. One of the most underrated Christmas films. Found out about it last year but no one I speak to has ever heard of it.

  4. This is a real interesting way to tell this tale. Not the story itself, but how the story came to be. That's really fascinating.

Edit: Also, as an amateur writer myself, I identify quite a lot with Dickens here.

  5. I've got a brain injury and the loud music & clips were exhausting to listen to & watch sadly. Hard for me to find movies/films that are simple enough yet keep my concentration/interest; can't cope with lots of different levels of noise (loud/quiet), lots of loud music or too much movement; so sad: I used to LOVE watching movies.

  6. I'd love for there to be a similar movie about Dr. Seuss writing The Grinch. Apparently he had an equally tough time ending his Christmas book, but while Dickens had a hard time sympathising with Scrooge, Seuss found it hard NOT to sympathize with the Grinch – he almost couldn't find an ending because he wanted the Grinch to win. That would make for an interesting bio movie. "The Grinch and I" or something similar.

  7. The movie is very charming and Stevens is really good in it. In fact I was thinking what a great Willy Wonka he would make. He has that perfect combination of flamboyance and sardonic wit that defines the character.

  8. The MAAN WHO INVENTED TRISCUITS 333 TIMES JUST XIT OUT 333 TIMS TIMEY MMKKK MISTURD SMACKME MASON THEIR GOES THAT SON AGAIN 33 & A HALF TIMES !

  9. I just finished watching this. I watched the first10 minutes and didn't think I was gonna like it, but this was a really good movie! I loved it!

  10. Fun fact: The real life Charles Dickens was, in fact, known for talking to himself while writing as though he was talking to his characters.

Now, whether this was just his writing process or if he was legitimately schizophrenic is kind of up in the air, it varies depending on the sources. But this is rather true to life!

  11. A Christmas carol is my favourite Charles Dickens book r.i.p my favourite Victorian author Charles Dickens 1812-70 ✝ this is the movie of Charles Dickens came up with my favourite book carter of all time
