Okay, so I’ve been seeing “cottagecore” all over my Pinterest and TikTok, and I’m totally here for it. I mean, who doesn’t want to pretend they live in a cozy little cottage, baking bread and surrounded by flowers? So, naturally, I needed to find some movies to really embrace the vibe. My mission was simple: Find the best cottagecore movies on Netflix.
First, I opened up Netflix on my laptop, because movie watching is always better on a bigger screen, right? Then, I started by just typing “cottagecore” into the search bar. It pulled up some, but not a great list. It was a little too general, bringing up some random stuff that didn’t quite fit.
So, I got a little more specific. I started searching for things like “period dramas,” “romantic movies,” and even just “countryside movies.” This is where I started hitting some gold!I also thought about movies I already loved that had that feel and looked to see if they were on there.
My Cottagecore Movie Marathon
I made a whole list and then narrowed it down to a few that looked the most promising. I decided to make a whole night of it, complete with snacks, it’s my form of self care.
- I found a few movies about whimsical and independent women.
- I also checked the “More Like This” section under each movie, that is where I find the hidden gems.
It was a good thing to do on a weekday night because the movies are slow moving, so I did other things around the house at the same time.
The end result? The movies really gave me the cottagecore feeling I wanted.
