Alright, listen up, y’all. You wanna dress up scary for Halloween, huh? Like them gals in the horror movies? I ain’t seen too many of them myself, but my grandkids, they talk about ’em all the time. So, I’m gonna tell ya what I heard, and you can figure out how to make it work. Don’t expect no fancy talk, alright?
First off, we got this “Mermaid” gal. Now, I ain’t talkin’ ‘bout no pretty little princess. This one’s gotta be scary, you hear? Maybe she got tangled in a fishin’ net and drowned, or somethin’. You could mess up your hair real good, put on some green makeup, make it look like seaweed is growin’ on ya. And them fishnets stockings? Tear ‘em up good, like a shark got ahold of ya. That’ll show them trick-or-treaters somethin’ spooky!
- Make your hair messy, like you just crawled outta the sea after a storm.
- Green makeup, all over, like you been sleepin’ with the fishes.
- Torn up fishnets, the kind them city girls wear. Makes ya look like ya fought a sea monster.
Then there’s this Kobble woman. Sounds like trouble, if you ask me. My grandboy said she’s from some new horror movie. Said she’s got a screw loose. So, you gotta look crazy, see? Maybe you wear some old clothes, all ripped and dirty. And your hair? Don’t even bother combin’ it. Make it look like a bird’s nest. And the eyes? Wide and wild, like you seen somethin’ awful.
Ghosts are always a good bet. Everybody knows what a ghost is. Just gotta get yourself all white and pale. A sheet with some eyeholes cut out? That works. Or you could use some white powder, the kind they put on babies’ butts, all over your face. And make some spooky noises, like “Oooooooh!” That always scares folks.
My grandbaby showed me a picture once. Frankenstein’s something or other. This was this big old fella all stitched up. You could be like that, but a gal version. That would scare them good. You could wear some ol’ clothes and stitch ‘em up in weird places. And paint your face green, make it look like ya been dug up from the grave. Walk around all stiff and clumsy like you ain’t used to your own body. That’s scary stuff, I tell ya.
Then there’s this “mummy” thing. That’s easy enough. Just wrap yourself up in toilet paper, that’s what I say. Or maybe some old bandages, if you got ‘em. Just make sure you can still walk and see, or you’ll be trippin’ over yourself all night. And leave some toilet paper hangin’ off, makes you look like you’ve been lyin’ in a tomb for a long time.
And don’t forget them other gals, the ones from them slasher movies. Like that Voorhees fella, but make him a gal. You could wear a hockey mask, and carry a big ol’ fake knife. Or somethin’ like that. You could dress all tattered with fake blood everywhere. And you stomp around like you ain’t got no sense, that’ll scare the pants off folks.
Another idea, you could be some kinda princess, but a scary one. Like, a princess who got cursed or somethin’. Wear a pretty dress, but tear it up some, make it dirty. And put on some dark makeup, make your eyes look all hollow and spooky. Maybe even carry a fake skull or somethin’. That’ll give folks the chills, a pretty gal turned scary.
Or how about somethin’ outta this world? Like that Andromeda Galaxy. Now, I ain’t know what that is, but it sounds spacey. You could wear somethin’ shiny and sparkly, like the stars. And paint your face all kinds of colors, like purple and green. And make your hair all big and poofy, like it’s full of stardust. That’s somethin’ different, ain’t it?
Or if you want somethin’ real simple, be a Yeti. That’s just a big hairy monster, like Bigfoot but in the snow, you know? Just get yourself some white fur, or somethin’ that looks like it. And make yourself some big ol’ furry boots. And stomp around and growl, that’s all you gotta do. Easy peasy.
So, there ya have it. Some ideas for dressin’ up scary this Halloween. Just remember, it don’t gotta be perfect. Just gotta be scary enough to make folks jump. And have fun with it, that’s the most important thing.
