Okay, so, today I’m gonna talk about something I did last weekend: binging on hiking documentaries on Netflix. Yeah, it might sound a bit boring to some, but trust me, it was awesome.
Getting Started
First off, I made a list of all the hiking-related stuff I could find on Netflix. I just typed “hiking” and “documentary” into the search bar and a bunch of things popped up. I wrote down the ones that looked interesting, you know, the ones with cool posters and catchy descriptions.
Watching the Docs
I started with “The Dawn Wall.” Man, this one was intense! It’s about this guy, Tommy Caldwell, trying to climb this insane rock face in Yosemite. The cinematography was amazing. It really made you feel like you were right there with him, dangling hundreds of feet in the air. I don’t think I can watch Free Solo after this!
- The Climb: This one was a bit more lighthearted. It’s about a regular guy who decides to climb Mount Everest to impress a girl. Cheesy, but fun.
- Mountain: Okay, this one was less about hiking and more about mountains in general, but it was still pretty cool. Lots of stunning visuals and interesting facts about mountains all over the world.
- National Parks Adventure: This one was perfect for getting inspired to visit some of the US National Parks. They showed all kinds of outdoor activities, including hiking, of course.
- Expedition Happiness: This one was about a couple who converted a school bus into a mobile home and traveled across North America. They did a lot of hiking along the way, and it made me want to do something similar.
My Thoughts
Honestly, it was a great way to spend a weekend. I learned a lot about different hiking trails and got some serious inspiration for my next outdoor adventure. Plus, it was just really cool to see the dedication and passion these hikers had. My friends and I also found these movies based on the true stories of hikers when they start their trails. These are very inspiring.
So yeah, if you’re into hiking or just looking for something interesting to watch, I definitely recommend checking out some of these documentaries on Netflix. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy them. And who knows, maybe they’ll even inspire you to hit the trails yourself!
