Alright, let me tell ya ’bout these movies about raves. You know, them parties with all the loud music and flashing lights? I ain’t been to one myself, mind you, too old for that nonsense. But I heard things, seen things on that TV thingy my grandson got me.
First off, they got this movie, “Human Traffic”. Came out a long time ago, 1999 I think. Folks say it’s about kids goin’ wild, takin’ them pills and whatnot. Sounds like trouble to me, but I guess that’s what the young’uns do these days. Or did back then, anyways. Don’t rightly know what they do now.
Then there’s “Beats”. That one’s about these two boys in Scotland, best friends they are. Can’t control nothin’, just wanna go to some secret party, a rave they call it. Risked everything, they did. Kids these days, always lookin’ for somethin’ excitin’, somethin’ more than what they got, I reckon.
Another one, called “Eden”. This one’s in France, Paris I think. About a young fella, Paul, gettin’ into this music scene, this underground thing. Lots of thumpin’ music and dancin’, I bet. Seems like these raves, they all over the world, not just here in America.
Now, there’s this other movie, “Groove”. That one’s all about one big, long party, all night long! They even got real DJs in it, playin’ that music. Forest Green, WishFM, Polywog, and Digweed, or somethin’ like that. Fancy names, if you ask me. Probably makin’ a racket, all them DJs and their music.
And then, just the other day, I saw somethin’ ’bout a new movie, a documentary they call it. “Between The Beats”, that’s the name. It’s all about these parties in San Francisco, back in the 90s. Big impact, they say. Guess them parties were a big deal back then.

There’s also this movie about Manchester, England. “24 Hour Party People” is what it’s called. Folks seem to like it a lot. Colorful, they say. Chaotic too. Captures the spirit, whatever that means. Critics gave it high marks, 85 out of 100. Sounds like a fancy one, that one does.
You know, talkin’ about all these movies makes me think. These raves, they must be somethin’ else. All that music, all that dancin’. Not my cup of tea, mind you. But these young folks, they seem to love it. Travelin’ all over for it, even. Heard tell of a place, Berlin, Germany. Supposed to be the best place for raves, the real deal, not the fancy, commercial ones. Parties there go on all weekend, Friday to Monday! Can you imagine? Lord have mercy.
So, if you’re into that kind of thing, them raves and such, you got plenty of movies to choose from. “Human Traffic”, “Beats”, “Eden”, “Groove”, “Between The Beats” and “24 Hour Party People”. Just remember, stay outta trouble, ya hear? And don’t be doin’ nothin’ your grandma wouldn’t approve of. Though, I guess, most grandmas wouldn’t approve of raves, now would they?
Anyways, that’s all I got to say ‘bout these movies about raves. Hope it made some sense to ya. Now, where did I put my glasses…
