This here computer thing, they got all kinds of stuff in it. My grandson, he’s always on it. He told me ’bout this thing, a horror movie database. Says it’s got all them scary movies in one place. Lord, I remember back in the day, we didn’t have none of that. We just had the one picture show in town, and you saw what they was showing, scary or not.
Now, this horror movie database, it’s like a big old book, ‘cept it’s on the computer. You want a scary movie, you just type it in there, and bam, there it is. My grandson, he showed me how to use it. Ain’t that somethin’? We used to have to just ask old man Hemlock about these kind of things. He was the only one with a TV.
The Exorcist Movie
He showed me this one movie, The Exorcist. Oh, that one gave me the willies. It’s about this little girl, see, and she gets taken over by some devil. They got a priest in there, trying to get that devil out. Lots of yelling and screaming, and that girl, her head spins right around! I had to cover my eyes. That one was just too much for me. That’s one of the famous horror movies, I tell ya. My grandson said it is the best one, that it is a top horror movie.
They got all kinds of these scary movies in this here database. Movies ’bout monsters, movies ’bout ghosts, movies ’bout people doing all kinds of bad things. It got lots of different kinds of horror movies.

- The Conjuring: This one’s ’bout a family that moves into a haunted house. Lots of jump scares in that one, I tell ya.
- Insidious: Now this one, it’s ’bout a little boy who falls into a coma, and his spirit gets trapped in some other place. His folks gotta try to get him back.
- Psycho: This one’s a classic, they say. It’s about a crazy man who has some problems with his mom. This is also a very famous horror movie.
- The Fog: Fog rolls in, and there’s some scary things in it.
- The Thing: This one, it’s set way up north, where it’s all cold and snowy. They got some kind of monster up there that can change its shape. I don’t think I would want to see that one. This is a classic horror movie.
- Creepshow: I saw this one on the TV once, and it has scary stories.
- Evil Dead: There are demons that attack some kids in the woods. I don’t like to watch this one.
- Silence of the Lambs: This one is scary, even though it doesn’t have monsters. This is a classic horror movie, that’s what my grandson says.
My grandson tried to get me to watch some more, but I said, “No sir!” One scary movie is enough for this old lady. But he likes ’em. He says there’s all different kinds. There’s these ones called “slashers,” where some fella goes around with a knife or somethin’, and then there’s ones with zombies, that’s dead folks walking around.
Creature Feature Horror Movies
And then he said there’s these “creature features.” That’s ones with big monsters, like King Kong. I remember seeing that one when I was a little girl. Big old ape, climbing up a building. And then there’s one called The Fly, ’bout a man who turns into a fly. Can you imagine that? Turning into a fly! These are just a few horror movies, and they got lots more.
This horror movie database, it’s got somethin’ for everyone, I reckon. If you like being scared, that is. Me, I’d rather watch somethin’ a little more cheerful. But the young folks, they love this stuff. They like watching all of these horror movies.
My grandson, he says this database is a big deal. Says everyone uses it to find movies to watch. Says it’s got all the information you could ever want about a movie. Who’s in it, who made it, what it’s about. I guess that’s useful, if you’re into that kind of thing. It is a useful horror movie database. That’s what my grandson says.
It is amazing what they can do on these computers. It is like magic. This horror movie database has so much stuff. I still don’t understand how they fit all of them horror movies in that little box.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say ’bout this horror movie database. It’s a strange and wonderful thing, I suppose. Just not for me. I’m gonna go watch my stories now. You young folks have fun with your scary movies. Just don’t come crying to me when you can’t sleep at night!
