Alright, let’s talk about this Trim Season movie, ya know? I ain’t no fancy movie critic or nothin’, just a regular person tellin’ ya what I think. So, don’t expect no big words or complicated stuff, okay?

What’s it all about, then?

Well, from what I gather, it’s about these young folks, probably fresh outta school or somethin’, lookin’ for some quick cash. They go off to this, uh, marijuana farm, a big ol’ place way out in the sticks. Sounds like a good idea at first, right? Easy money, trimmin’ plants. But, let me tell ya, things ain’t always what they seem.

See, somethin’ bad happened there before they arrived. A murder, or maybe a suicide, they say. Folks dyin’ ain’t ever a good sign, that’s for sure. And these youngsters, they just walk right into it, bless their hearts.

  • They wanted easy money
  • They got more than they bargained for
  • Bad things happen on that farm

Now, this movie, it ain’t just blood and guts, though there’s some of that, I reckon. It’s got this… creepy feel to it. Like somethin’s watchin’ ya, ya know? The kind of feelin’ that makes the hair on your arms stand up. And it ain’t rushed, this scary stuff. It takes its time, kinda sneakin’ up on ya like a cat on a mouse. One minute you’re thinkin’ everything’s fine, the next minute… BAM! Somethin’ awful happens.

The folks in the movie, they do a pretty good job, I guess. There’s this one girl, Esso, they say she’s a good actor. I wouldn’t know her from a hole in the wall, but she seems real enough in this movie. Believable, ya know? Like she’s really scared or worried or whatever. That’s important, I think. If the actors ain’t good, the whole thing just falls apart, like a poorly made quilt.

Is it scary, though? That’s what you wanna know, right?

Well, yeah, it’s got its moments. Some of them killin’s… they ain’t pretty, let me tell ya. Disturbing, they say. Yeah, I’d say that’s a good word for it. But it ain’t just about the blood. It’s the whole… atmosphere, I guess you’d call it. The way they film it, all dark and shadowy. And the sounds, too. Creaky doors, whispers… it all adds up. Keeps ya on the edge of your seat, sorta.

Someone said it’s like “Suspiria on a bad drug trip.” Now, I ain’t seen no Suspiria, so I can’t say if that’s true or not. But the “bad drug trip” part… yeah, I can see that. There’s somethin’ kinda… weird about it. Not quite right, ya know? Like the world’s tilted a little bit off its axis.

And what about the message? Is there a message?

Well, some folks say it’s about… gender and stuff. And somethin’ about marijuana bein’ magical. Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention to that. Too much thinkin’ for me. I just wanted to see if these kids would make it out alive. But, I guess if you’re into that kinda stuff, maybe you’ll find somethin’ deep in there. Me? I just saw a bunch of young people gettin’ themselves into a heap of trouble.

So, should ya watch it?

Well, if you like scary movies, yeah, I guess so. It’s well-made, they say, and I can’t argue with that. It looks good, and the actors are decent. And it’s definitely creepy. Just don’t expect a happy-go-lucky feel-good movie, okay? This ain’t no sunshine and rainbows kinda story. This is more like… cloudy skies and a storm comin’.

Final thoughts?

Trim Season ain’t perfect, but it ain’t bad neither. It’ll keep ya entertained, and maybe even give ya a few nightmares. And that’s all ya can really ask for in a horror movie, ain’t it?

It’s available to rent or own now, they say. So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch on a dark and stormy night, give it a try. Just don’t blame me if ya can’t sleep afterwards.
