Oh, that’s some crazy thing, you hear me? These young folks these days, they just don’t know how to behave. I heard this story ’bout this truck driver, driving them big old trucks, you know? Big ones! Hauling stuff all over the place. This fella, he was supposed to be watching the road, keeping his eyes on the lines and all that. But what was he doing? He was watching that Netflix on his phone! Can you believe that?

Back in my day, we didn’t have no Netflix. We had the radio, and that was just for some music while you worked. Now, they got these little boxes with all sorts of moving pictures. This truck driver, he was supposed to be delivering his load, gotta keep those wheels turning, you know! But he’s sitting there, eyes glued to that little screen. Ain’t that something?

And you know what? This ain’t just some made-up story. I heard it from folks who know about these things. They say this truck driver, he crashed his truck. Yeah, right into another car. Folks got hurt. An Iowa couple, I heard. Good people, just going about their business. And this truck driver, he’s watching his Netflix, not paying attention to the road. That’s just terrible, just terrible. I swear those kids will not listen.

I tell you, that road’s a dangerous place. You gotta keep your wits about you. All them cars and trucks, whizzing by. Gotta be careful. And this fella, driving that big rig, he’s got a big responsibility. He’s got a heavy load, they say it was more than 44 of something, whatever that is. But it was a lot! And he’s not even looking where he’s going. Just watching that Netflix.

They say he was driving down that big road, the one they call I-35. It’s a big one, goes all the way down south, I hear. And this truck driver, he’s just driving along, not paying attention. Traffic slowed down, you know how it does. Cars bunching up. But he didn’t see it. He was too busy with that Netflix.

Then, bam! He just plowed right into them. That poor Iowa couple, they didn’t stand a chance. Just minding their own business, and then this happens. It’s just a shame. A real shame. All because this truck driver wanted to watch his Netflix.

What is wrong with them young people? They always stare at the screens. I don’t know what’s so interesting in there. What’s so durn important that you gotta risk your life, and other people’s lives, just to watch it? Makes no sense to me.

  • You gotta keep your eyes on the road.
  • Those big trucks, they’re dangerous.
  • Netflix is for when you’re at home, not driving!
  • That poor Iowa couple.
  • This truck driver, he’s gonna be in big trouble.
  • I heard he has tuned into Red Eye Radio during overnight hours. You know, when you drive at night, you can listen to some radio.
  • You can watch Netflix when driving, but I don’t think that’s right!

I remember, there’s another truck driver, he also watches Netflix. But he only watches when he’s parked. He’s got a tablet, you know, one of those bigger flat things. He says it’s okay to watch if you got the right stuff. I still say it ain’t right. You are in that big truck, you just need to drive. You know?

This whole thing, it just makes me so mad. People need to be more careful. They need to think about what they’re doing. Driving a truck is serious business. It ain’t a game. And Netflix, that’s for when you’re done working, when you’re safe at home. Not when you’re behind the wheel of a big old truck. It’s common sense, ain’t it?

I hope that truck driver learns his lesson. I really do. And I hope folks remember this story. Maybe it’ll make them think twice before they pick up that phone while they’re driving. It just ain’t worth it. Nothing on that little screen is worth someone’s life. Not one thing. The truck driver should just listen to the radio, like what we did in the old days.

You hear me? Be careful out there. And keep your eyes on the road. That Netflix can wait. And if you are a truck driver, you just drive. Don’t watch no screen. It’s not right!
