A fun, entertaining B-grade disaster movie. I like these kind of movies for some light entertainment. CineTel puts out a steady stream of them and they generally do a pretty good job of it.
Normally I don't care about "scientific inaccuracies", because hey, it's just a movie, so who really cares. This particular inaccuracy, though, is far more glaring than most. Dark matter doesn't interact with normal matter at all. It exerts a gravitational force, but that's it, nothing else. That is the main difficulty with studying it.
So shooting dark matter at normal matter would have no effect at all. If dark matter contacting normal matter caused normal matter to 'wink out' like that, pretty much the entire universe would have ceased to exist long ago.
The kind of substance and reaction that they are portraying is more like antimatter, but definitely not dark matter. They are NOT the same thing.
It's like making movie about a killer shark, and then using a manatee instead. 😂😂😂
It was an entertaining movie nonetheless, and I enjoyed it.
