  1. The Ottoman Turkish empire was quite corrupt and ruthless and oppressive, and rotted from within. It was quite common for Ottoman rulers to kill their close relatives (like a brother for example) when coming to power. They didn't want any competition. Assassinations were common like they were with the emperors of the Roman Empire. The Ottomans also took many young boys and men from conqured lands and made them Janissaries to fight in the Turkish army. The Janissary Corps of the Ottoman Empire was kind of like the French Foreign Legion of France (except the Janissary members were not volunteers). This large foreign presence in the Turkish army was somewhat similar to the large foreign presence in Roman armies in the latter years of the Roman Empire as it was becoming weak and corrupted. This same weakness and corruptiion occurred in the Ottoman Turkish Empire as well. The Romanians defeated the Turks, and they were led by Vlad who was a Romanian prince. The defeat of the Turks was the start of their decline. They eventually became known as the "sick man of Europe" in reference to how corrupt and weak they were becoming. The Ottoman Empire finally came to an end at the end of World War I, and Britain and France took over a large part of the former Ottoman Turkish territories. One empire gets weak and gets defeated and taken over by another empire. This has been going on for a very long time.

  2. This is Turkish propaganda film with distorted history. The Ottoman Turks were the invaders and oppressors in Eastern Europe who were eventually defeated.

  3. Vlad looks more Turk than the Turks. The ottoman’s look like a cross between mad max, polish winged hussars and Ukraine Cossacks. Oh and calm down on the man makeup pls.

  4. Love how Muslim history lies about how they treated hostages , his brother was raped by soldiers and became the calamite concubine of the Sultan because he was very good looking unlike his brother. Perhaps, he was easier to manipulate than his brother who refused to be cowed.

  5. A bit of a bias film, and not accurate, they put snippets of truth into something and people believe that's what happened..

  6. I watch them all and never felt anything but empathy for his cause. Most are just based on love and vampires not truth, The mysterious life of pain and acceptance of faith in humanity. Religious insanity of mankind.

  7. There are no heroes here or in real life–both sides were barbaric killing monsters–there never is an excuse for this kind of madness in any country including my own! Jesus did not die so we as humans were free to destroy other humans! I liked the movie and have watched it many times as well as other movies pertaining to The Impaler also delved into the ancient history of many rulers, but found no humane one yet!
