Okay, folks, let’s dive into today’s little project. I was on the hunt for movies similar to “Private Lessons.” You know, something in that same ballpark. So, I fired up my computer and got to work.
First, I hit up a few different streaming sites, just browsing around. I poked around Tubi, because they have a ton of stuff and it’s free, which is always a plus. I was scrolling through their “most popular” lists, checking out movies and TV shows. I noticed they had a lot of horror movies listed, but that wasn’t what I was after.
Then I thought, “Maybe there’s a list of western movies,” ’cause who doesn’t love a good western? I found some mentions of classics like “Three Amigos!” and “McLintock,” but they weren’t quite hitting the mark.
I kept digging. I came across a mention of some talk show host vacationing in Arizona, a comedy with Paul Bogart as the director, that sounded kinda funny, but still not what I was looking for.
- I stumbled upon this entry about a “2B Sci-Fi Feature” from 2010. It was about some techno-human committing a crime to prove that, like, the era of flesh bodies is over. Super out there, definitely not what I was looking for, but it caught my eye.
Here’s where things got a little weird:
Then I started finding more general lists. One was just about free full-length movies on YouTube. Another mentioned a top 10 list with stuff like “Alien: Romulus” and “Road House.” Getting warmer, maybe, but still not “Private Lessons” vibe.
And then, I hit a list of top 30 Robin Williams movies. Now, I love Robin Williams as much as the next guy, but that wasn’t the direction I was heading in.
So, after all that, did I find exactly what I was looking for? Not really. But I did stumble upon some interesting stuff along the way. It’s funny how these internet searches can take you down some unexpected rabbit holes. Anyway, that’s my little adventure for today.
