Alright, so, I wanted to get my hands on some horror movies, right? It’s been a while since I had a good scare, and I figured it was time to beef up my collection.
First things first, I started with a quick brainstorm. What did I already have? What was I in the mood for? I made a list, just a simple one on my phone. Classics, new releases, some foreign flicks – you name it. I wanted to cover all the bases.
Once I had my wishlist, I decided to check out what was available on the usual streaming platforms. You know the ones. I scrolled through their horror sections, added a few to my watchlist that seemed interesting, but honestly, nothing really grabbed me. Plus, I wanted to actually own these movies, not just rent them.
Hitting Up Local Stores
Next, I thought, why not go old school? I remembered there’s a couple of those used movie and music stores in town. So, I headed out, hoping to find some hidden gems.
At the first store, I dug through crates of DVDs and Blu-rays. It was kinda fun, like a treasure hunt. I managed to snag a couple of classics I didn’t have yet, and they were super cheap! Score!
- The Exorcist (Director’s Cut)
- The Shining (Extended Edition)
- Halloween (Original 1978 version)
I hit up another store, and this one had an even bigger selection. They had a whole section dedicated to horror, sorted by subgenre. It was awesome! I found some rare stuff there, even a couple of out-of-print editions. I felt like a kid in a candy store.
After that, I figured I’d give online shopping a shot. I checked out some online shops for movies, they sometimes have deals on box sets and limited editions, so why not right? I found some good deals and placed an order for a few more titles to complete my collection.
The End Result
So, yeah, after a bit of searching and shopping, I ended up with a pretty decent haul of horror movies. I’ve got enough to keep me spooked for weeks! Now, all that’s left is to dim the lights, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show.
It was a bit of a journey, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? And who knows, maybe I’ll stumble upon even more horror goodness in the future. You can never have too many scary movies, can you?
