Alright, so a while back, I got it into my head that I wanted to watch Netflix while I was on the road. Not while driving, obviously, but, you know, during those long waits in the parking lot or when I’m just chilling in the car. I’ve got this Android Auto thing in my car, and I figured, “Why not try to get Netflix working on it?”

First things first, I grabbed my phone and opened up the Google Play Store. I made sure both the Android Auto app and the Netflix app were updated to the latest versions. You know how it is, gotta have the newest stuff for things to work right.

Next, I parked my car – safety first, folks – and connected my phone to the car’s system using a USB cable. Once everything was hooked up, I went into the Android Auto settings on my phone. I tapped on “Add device” and selected Android Auto from the list. It showed my car’s system, so I picked that. Then I hit “Continue,” and just like that, my phone and car were talking to each other.

Now, here’s where it got a bit tricky. I wanted to actually get Netflix running on the car’s screen. I did some digging around and found out about these screen mirroring apps. The idea is that you can mirror your phone’s screen onto the car’s display. Sounded simple enough, right?

I downloaded one of these mirroring apps from the Play Store and installed it. Then, I opened the app and followed the instructions to get it set up. It involved messing around with some settings and permissions, but eventually, I got it working. I could see my phone’s screen on the car’s display, which was pretty cool.

With the mirroring app running, I launched the Netflix app on my phone. And there it was, my favorite shows and movies, right there on the car’s screen! I could browse, select, and play whatever I wanted. I felt like I had unlocked some secret level in a game or something.

  • Step 1: Updated Android Auto and Netflix apps on my phone.
  • Step 2: Connected my phone to the car via USB.
  • Step 3: Paired my phone with Android Auto in the settings.
  • Step 4: Downloaded and set up a screen mirroring app.
  • Step 5: Launched Netflix on my phone while mirroring.

So, yeah, that’s how I got Netflix playing on Android Auto. It took a bit of trial and error, but it’s definitely doable. Now, whenever I’ve got some downtime in the car, I can catch up on my shows. Just remember to stay safe and not get too distracted while driving!
