Alright, let’s talk about this “Wes Anderson horror movie” thing. Don’t rightly know who this Wes Anderson fella is, but sounds fancy. And “horror”? Like, scary stuff? Well, I’ve seen some scary things in my life, let me tell ya. Like that time the old Johnson place burned down, sounded like somethin’ screamin’ in there. But that ain’t no movie, that’s real life.
So, this Wes Anderson, he makes movies, huh? And people wanna know if he’d make a scary one? Well, I reckon he could. Everyone’s got a scary story in ’em, even them fancy movie folks. Maybe he’d make a movie about them dollhouse things I seen in the city once. All perfect and lined up, but somethin’ ain’t right, you know? Like them little dolls gonna come alive and start bitin’ or somethin’. That’d be kinda creepy.
Now, they say some scary movies are based on real things. Like that “Scream” movie, they say it happened somewhere, some fella doin’ bad things. And that Annabelle doll? Spooky stuff. I had a rag doll when I was a little girl, but she didn’t do nothin’ but sit there. Maybe this Wes fella, he could take somethin’ real, somethin’ scary, and make it all… I don’t know… symmetrical, like they say he does. Like, line up all the scary parts all nice and neat. That’d be a new kind of scary, wouldn’t it?

- Or maybe about a family, all polite and proper, but they got somethin’ locked up in the attic, somethin’ that ain’t human.
- Or even, a school, all the kids in uniforms, lined up just so, but one day, one of ’em goes missin’, and nobody wants to talk about it.
See, the scary stuff ain’t always about monsters jumpin’ out at ya. Sometimes it’s the quiet things, the things people don’t say, the things they hide. That’s what really gets under your skin. Like that old dog, used to be so friendly, then one day, he just started snarlin’ at everyone, somethin’ changed in him, you know? That’s the real scary stuff.
And this Wes fella, they say he likes color, all matchy-matchy. Well, he could use that, make it all bright and cheerful at first, then slowly turn it dark, twisted. Like them flowers in the garden, pretty and colorful, but they got thorns, and some of ’em are poison. That’s how he could make his scary movie. Lull you in with the pretty colours and then, BAM! Hit you with the scary stuff.
They also say his movies are like stories inside stories, folks tellin’ different parts. Well, that’s how life is, ain’t it? Everyone sees things different. Maybe in his scary movie, you’d see the same scary thing from different folks’ eyes, and each time, it gets a little worse, a little more twisted. Like that time the neighbor’s cow got loose. Everyone had a different story about what happened, but the cow, well, she was gone for good. Scary thing is, nobody ever found her.
I heard some folks say most scary movies that say they’re real, well, they ain’t. They make stuff up, make it sound real scary. But maybe this Wes fella, he could do it different. He could make a movie that’s kinda real, kinda not, make you wonder what’s true and what ain’t. That’s the kind of scary that sticks with ya. Like them shadows in the corner of your room at night, you ain’t sure if it’s just a shadow, or somethin’ else.
So, yeah, I reckon this Wes Anderson fella could make a scary movie. It wouldn’t be like them other ones, with all the jump scares and blood. It’d be somethin’ different, somethin’… unsettling. Like a perfect picture with a crack runnin’ through it. That’s the kind of scary that gets ya, the kind that makes you think. And maybe that’s the scariest kind of scary of all. He could line up all the fear nice and neat, make it look all pretty, but underneath, it’s rotten to the core. Yep, that’d be a Wes Anderson horror movie, alright.
