Hey everyone, so I’ve been meaning to check out some of the new Christian movies that have been released recently. I finally got around to doing it, and I wanted to share my experience with you all.

First, I started by doing some digging online. I searched for articles and lists about the best Christian movies of 2023. There’s a ton of stuff out there, but I wanted to focus on movies with strong Christian themes that are also generally family-friendly. You know, something that the whole family could enjoy together without any awkward moments.

I came across a few interesting titles and decided to make a list of the ones that piqued my interest the most. Here’s what I found:

  • After Death: This one’s a documentary that explores near-death experiences. It sounds pretty fascinating and could spark some interesting conversations.
  • Bonhoeffer: Pastor: Looks like a great one. I really like his work and his commitment to faith.
  • Breakthrough: This sounds like a touching movie about a boy’s recovery.
  • Miracles from Heaven: This one’s got to be full of tear-jerking moments, right?
  • Fireproof: A friend recommended this one. Looks like an inspiring movie.
  • War Room: Prayer is powerful, and I’m interested to see how this movie portrays it.
  • Overcomer: I love stories about finding your identity in Christ.
  • God’s Not Dead: I’ve heard so much about this series. Time to see what the hype is about!
  • Facing the Giants: A football movie with a faith-based message? Count me in!
  • Heaven is Real: This one’s based on a true story, which makes it even more intriguing.
  • Soul Surfer: Bethany Hamilton’s story is so inspiring. Can’t wait to watch this one.
  • The Shack: This book was a rollercoaster of emotions, so I’m curious to see the movie adaptation.

After I had my list, I checked out which streaming services had these movies. It turns out, a lot of them are available on Netflix, which is super convenient. I figured I could just have a movie marathon over the weekend.

My Watch Party

So, I invited a couple of friends over, made some popcorn, and we dove right in. We started with “After Death” because we were all curious about the topic. It was definitely thought-provoking and led to some deep discussions afterward.

Then, we watched “Breakthrough” and “Miracles from Heaven” back-to-back. Let me tell you, there were tears. These movies really pull at your heartstrings and remind you of the power of faith and prayer. “Bonhoeffer: Pastor”, what a great story! His courage is so inspiring.

We took a break after those two, refilled our popcorn, and chatted about our favorite parts. It was really nice to share this experience with friends who appreciate these kinds of movies as much as I do. We already talked about doing it next weekend again.

Overall, it was a really fulfilling weekend. I enjoyed not only watching these movies but also discussing them with my friends. It’s amazing how movies can bring people together and spark meaningful conversations.

If you’re looking for some good Christian movies to watch, I highly recommend checking out the ones I mentioned. They’re a great way to spend an evening and reflect on your faith. Let me know if you’ve seen any of them and what you thought!
