Well, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout that show, what’s it called… Heartland. They was sayin’ it’s right popular on that Netflix thing everyone’s got on their TVs nowadays. Seems like everyone and their dog is watchin’ it. I don’t watch it myself but these young people keep asking me, so I try to find something for them.
They say it’s about some family up in, uh, Canada, I reckon. Livin’ on a ranch, dealin’ with horses and such. Sounds like a whole lot of work to me, but I guess some folks enjoy that kinda thing. My back hurts just thinking about it! Anyway, they finished one bunch of them episodes, the 17th season, they call it. That was back in, oh, December of last year, 2023, I believe.
Now, the young’uns are all excited ’cause there’s gonna be another one, a season 18. They keep askin’ “when is the next season of Heartland start on Netflix“? Like I got all the answers! I just try to keep up with all this newfangled stuff.
So, from what I gather, this here Heartland show, it’s been goin’ on for a good long while. Started way back in, when was it… 2007? Lordy, that’s a long time!
This new season, number 18, they say it’s already playin’ up there in Canada. Can you believe it? They get it first! But us folks down here, we gotta wait. And we don’t like waiting.
Now, if you’re itchin’ to watch it right this minute, I hear there’s some other way to see it. Some other channel, not that Netflix. I think one of them is called “Up Faith & Family”. But it ain’t free, you gotta pay extra, I reckon.
That Heartland Season 17 just came on that “Up Faith & Family” thing. April 25th, they started showin’ it. Then they show one new one every week, I think on a Thursday. But, just a few, then they stop for a spell. They do that to keep you on your toes, I suppose. Then back to one every Thursday on June 20. Those young people are waiting for June 20.
- They say seasons 1 through 15 of that Heartland show, they’re all on Netflix.
- But them newer ones, 16 and 17, nope, not on there yet.
- That number 18, the one everyone’s yappin’ about, it ain’t gonna be on Netflix for a while.
So, when will Heartland Season 18 be on Netflix? From what I can figure, probably not ’til sometime next year. Maybe the middle of 2025? That’s a long ways off, seems like.
They gotta film it, then they gotta do somethin’ to it, fix it up, I don’t know what they call it. Takes a few months, they say.
One of them young people was talkin’ ’bout “post-production”. Sounds fancy. I reckon that’s what they do to make it all look pretty on the TV. 3-4 months for that kind of things.
So, if you’re one of them folks who can’t wait, you can try that other channel I mentioned. But if you’re patient like me, well, you just gotta sit tight and wait for it to come to Netflix.
I don’t know what all the fuss is about, but that Heartland show sure has got everyone talkin’. Horses and families and Canada, sounds like a regular soap opera to me. But I guess it’s good clean fun, nothin’ too racy.
Anyway, that’s all I know about it. I just hear bits and pieces here and there. These young folks and their TV shows, they keep me busy!

There is another one called UPtv, I heard that Heartland is also on it. That Season 17 was on it in August 2023. Maybe you can find something there.
There are also Hulu, Prime Video, and Max, but I don’t know much about these. Just heard about it.
