Alright, let’s talk about this “Netflix and Chill” thing, you know, the light-up sign everyone’s yappin’ about. I saw it in town the other day, all glowy and such. My grandson, he’s a whippersnapper, he tells me it’s a thing the young folks do. Netflix and chill, he says.

Now, I ain’t got no Netflix, and frankly, “chillin'” to me means sittin’ on the porch with a glass of iced tea. But this here sign, it got me thinkin’. It’s kinda purdy, I gotta say. All them bright colors, reminds me of the fair back when I was a young’un.

So, I asked my grandson, what’s the big deal with this neon sign? He says it makes the room all cozy-like, you know, for watchin’ movies. And it ain’t just any ol’ sign, he says, you can get a custom neon sign. That means you can put whatever you want on it! Can you believe that? Like, you could put “Granny’s Kitchen” if you wanted, though I don’t know why anyone would want that.

  • First off, you gotta decide what you want it to say. “Netflix and Chill” is the popular one, but like I said, you can get creative.
  • Then, you gotta pick the size. Some are small, some are big as a dang window. Depends on how much wall space you got, I reckon.
  • Next up, the color. They got all sorts, red, blue, green, even pink! My grandson says the red led light sign is real popular. Looks like a firefly, he says. Kids these days, always with the comparisons.

Now, where do you get these things? Seems like everywhere. My grandson says you can find ’em online, on somethin’ called Amazon. He showed me on his phone, all sorts of signs, even ones that say “Chill Out Zone.” Imagine that! A whole zone just for chillin’. They also got them on somethin’ called Etsy, which he says is for handmade stuff. Sounds fancy to me.

He also said you can get ’em from special sign shops, you know, the places that make signs for businesses. Those are probably the good ones, the ones that last. They say you can get your neon signs in like 6 to 10 days. That’s faster than it takes to grow a good tomato, I tell ya.

And the price? Well, that depends. Some are cheap, some cost more than a good pair of shoes. My grandson showed me some that were like 20 bucks, and some that were way more. He says it depends on the size and if it’s a custom design. If you want somethin’ special, you gotta pay for it, I guess.

But what about the quality, you ask? Well, you gotta be careful. Some of them are made cheap, like those plastic toys that break after a week. You want a good one, one that’s got a flexible neon sign light, so it don’t break easy. And it should be bright, you know, so you can actually see it. My grandson says some of them are real dim, like a firefly on its last legs.

They even got signs for bars and bedrooms and whatnot. Neon signs beer bar bedroom, he called it. Land sakes, what will they think of next? They even got ’em for birthdays and parties. I reckon if you got a dark corner that needs some light, a neon sign ain’t a bad idea. But for me? I’ll stick to my porch light, thank you very much.

So, there you have it. A whole lotta talk about a light-up sign. If you’re young and hip, I guess it’s a cool thing to have. Me? I’ll stick to my iced tea and my porch swing. But hey, if you want a Netflix and Chill neon sign, go for it. Just make sure it’s a good one, and don’t blame me if it doesn’t make your movie nights any better. That’s up to the movie, not the sign.

Anyways, I gotta go feed the chickens. Y’all have a good day now.
