You know, nowadays, everyone’s got them fancy phones and them computer things. My grandkids, they’re always on ’em, watchin’ movies and shows. They say it’s all online now, no need for them old dusty video tapes anymore. They talk about this thing, “123 movies for free online“, and I think, well, ain’t that somethin’? Free movies? Back in my day, we had to walk uphill both ways just to rent a movie, and it cost an arm and a leg!
So, I asked my grandson, “What’s this 123 movies thing all about?” He says, “Grandma, it’s where you can watch movies online for free.” Well, I’ll be darned. Free, you say? He showed me on his phone, and sure enough, there was a whole bunch of movies, right there on the screen. All the new ones, old ones, even ones I ain’t never heard of. And he said there’s a bunch of sites like that, not just 123 movies, but others too. Said 123 movie website ain’t workin’ no more, but there are some others still runnin’. He says they call them “mirror sites” or somethin’ like that.
This here internet thing is a real wonder, ain’t it? It’s like havin’ a whole movie theater right in your pocket. My grandkids say there is one website called Tubi, they say it’s like a big ol’ library, full of all kinds of movies. You just pick one and watch it, just like that. No need to rewind or nothin’!

Then there’s this other one called Popcornflix. Now that’s a name I can get behind! Makes me think of sittin’ in the theater with a big bucket of popcorn. They say it’s got a whole heap of movies too. These young’uns sure are lucky, ain’t they? All these free movies online, right at their fingertips.
My grandson, he’s a smart one. He told me there are some things called Pluto TV and IMDb TV. I don’t rightly know what them letters stand for, but he says they got movies too. And get this, even YouTube, where they watch them funny cat videos, they got movies on there now! But he says you gotta watch them ads. Well, nothin’s ever truly free, I reckon. Gotta sit through a little somethin’ to get to the good stuff.
He said the original 123movies was called *. Then he said they kept changin’ the name, like they were hidin’ or somethin’. He said it went to gomovies, then gostream, then memovies, and then finally 123movieshub. It’s like they couldn’t make up their minds! But he says now it’s gone for good.
I asked him, are these free movie websites safe? Are these websites gonna give my computer a sickness? He said most of ’em are okay, but you gotta be careful. Some of ’em might try to trick ya. He said you gotta watch out for them pop-up things and not click on anything that looks fishy. He said AZMovies is pretty good too, but it’s got a lot of them ads. Six, he said, that’s a lot of ads to sit through!
It is hard to believe how many movies online for free there are now. I remember when we only had three channels on the TV, and we had to wait all week for our favorite show to come on. Now, you can watch anything you want, anytime you want. It’s a whole new world, ain’t it?
I reckon I’m gettin’ too old for all this newfangled technology. But it sure is nice to know that you can watch a movie without havin’ to leave the house or spend a fortune. And with all these free movies online websites, there’s somethin’ for everyone, even an old lady like me. Maybe I’ll have my grandson show me how to use that Tubi thing. I wouldn’t mind watchin’ an old Western again.
These young folks today, they don’t know how good they got it. Back in my day, we didn’t have no internet, no free online movies, no nothin’. We had to use our imaginations! But I guess this internet thing ain’t all bad. It’s like a whole world of entertainment, right there in that little box. Just gotta be careful not to get lost in it!
