That’s what them smarty-pants fellas say, anyhow.
- The Strong, Silent Type? Maybe you’re like that fella, what’s his name, Michael Myers? He don’t say much, just walks around slow and steady, but he sure gets the job done, if you know what I mean. He’s patient, that one. Waits for the right moment. You the patient type?
- The Chatty One? Or maybe you’re more like Freddy Krueger, always jabberin’ and jokin’, even when he’s doin’ somethin’ awful. He likes to play games, mess with your head. You a joker? Like to get under people’s skin?
- The Tragic Figure? Then there’s them sad ones, like the Frankenstein monster. He didn’t ask to be made, didn’t want to hurt nobody, but things just went wrong for him. You ever feel like that? Like the world’s just givin’ you a hard time, no matter what you do?
- The Smooth Talker? Some villains, they got that charm, you know? Like that Dracula fella. He can sweet-talk you into anything, even though you know he’s bad news. You got a way with words? Can you get people to do what you want?
Them scary movies, they take everyday stuff and make it spooky. Like, takin’ a walk in the woods, that can be nice, right? But in a scary movie, somethin’ bad’s gonna happen in them woods. Or like lookin’ in a mirror. You do that every day, but in a scary movie, there might be somethin’ lookin’ back at ya that ain’t supposed to be there. Take that Candyman, for example, say his name too many times in the mirror, and bam! He shows up. He’s kinda like that Bloody Mary story the kids tell, and that fella with the hook for a hand. All mixed up together, real spooky like.

So, next time you’re watchin’ one of them scary movies, and you see that villain creepin’ around, ask yourself, “Hey, is that me? Am I like that fella?” Maybe you are, maybe you ain’t. But it’s somethin’ to think about, ain’t it?
